Brighton should've had two penalties against Spurs
VAR decisions dominated Brighton's defeat at Spurs on Saturday and those said VAR decisions ended up costing them the win. They had two goals ruled out via handball and were also denied two penalties.
Those penalties should've been given because Kauro Mitoma was clearly tripped by Pierre Emile Hojbjerg for the first one and Clement Lenglet pulled the shirt of Lewis Dunk for the second. Both decisions were not given and the referee was not asked by VAR to have a look at them.
VAR should've had a look at them as they were both clear and obvious errors and VAR was brought in too look at clear and obvious errors. Had they had a look at them both, I'm certain that the referee would've awarded Brighton two penalties as he would've had a good look at them on the pitch side monitor before awarding the penalties.
Are Crystal Palace preparing for life without Zaha after impressive performances from Eze and Olise?
Crystal Palace appeared not to miss Wilfried Zaha in their win over Leeds on Sunday with both Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise stepping up with good performances. With Zaha's contract up at the end of the season and both Eze and Olise being the future of the club; Are Palace preparing for life without him?
Olise recorded a hat trick of assists against Leeds with his second setting up Eze to make it 3-1. The pair of them linked up a number of times during the game including for the third goal and were excellent right throughout the game as they caused Leeds a number of problems. Their performances will surely give Palace confidence that they can win without Zaha in the side and not rely on him as much as they have done.
Their individual performances will be an encouraging sign for the Eagles moving forward as they're both young players and are set to be key players for Palace in the future because of them being young. With talisman Wilfried Zaha likely to leave in the summer when his contract expires, his potential departure could pave the way for either Eze or Olise to take over as the Eagles' new talisman.
Zaha's current absence from the team will give the pair more opportunities to prove that they can step up in the Ivorian's absence.
Is Arsenal's draw with Liverpool two points dropped or a point gained?
It could be seen either way. A point gained or two points dropped. A point gained because the draw extended the gap between themselves and Man City to six points which still gives them a comfortable cushion at the top and a strong chance of winning the title. But two points dropped because they drew the game by throwing away a two goal lead.
Getting a point at Anfield isn't easy because the atmosphere there can really intimidate the away team. Many teams have felt that way over the years when going to Anfield and Arsenal may feel happy with the point in that they managed it whilst playing in a hostile environment. Any point away from home is a good point and especially at Anfield.
But the Gunners dropping points could give Man City a way back into the title race as City have a game in hand and play Arsenal at the Etihad later this month. If City win both their game in hand and the game against Arsenal they could gain the upper hand in the title race. Especially if Arsenal drop points between now and the game at the Etihad.
Whether it was a point gained or two points dropped is something we'll find out at the end of the season. Depending on where Arsenal end the season.
