Premier League Predictions: Matchweek 36

FRIDAY:

LUTON V EVERTON

Luton have already beaten Everton twice this season in both the league and the FA Cup which should give them some much needed confidence.

The Hatters have shown a lot of fight in their games this season and especially at home where they've had a decent record. Two of their final three games including this one are at home and it's important that they get maximum points from both of them.

Everton secured their safety last weekend with their win over Brentford but Sean Dyche will want his side to kick on from that and end the season strongly. All whilst waiting for the outcome of their appeal against their recent points deduction.

Sean Dyche deserves a huge amount of credit for the job he's done this season mainly because of everything that has gone on off the pitch. I'd probably have him down as a contender for manager of the season.

The Toffees do come into this game in better form than Luton but with Rob Edwards' side being at home and having already beaten Everton twice this season, I think they'll get another one over them here.

PREDICTION: 2-1

SATURDAY:

ARSENAL V BOURNEMOUTH

Arsenal blew Spurs away in the first half last weekend before having to hang on later towards the end of the second. That game was one they simply had to win and the same will go for their remaining fixtures. Especially with City having a game in hand.

Bournemouth were outstanding against Brighton last weekend where they were a class above them from the very first whistle.

The Cherries went 2-0 up in this fixture last season before Arsenal eventually turned it around to win 3-2. I think they'll have another go at Arsenal like they did in that game and especially as they're a more front footed under Andoni Iraola.

But I think Arsenal will have more than enough quality to overcome them. Especially as they have a much stronger mentality.

PREDICTION: 3-1

BRENTFORD V FULHAM

Brentford secured their safety last weekend despite losing to Everton and they'll now have their sights set on a strong end to the season.

The Bees haven't been as good at home as they have been in recent seasons but they did win the reverse fixture 3-0 back in August. They'll fancy themselves to do the same here.

Fulham have been disappointing away from home this season but they did win their last game on the road against West Ham.

I don't see that being a turning point for them though as I think Brentford will have enough to come away with the points here.

PREDICTION: 2-0

BURNLEY V NEWCASTLE

Burnley have put in some good performances of late and those performances have given them a chance of staying up.

But they do still have moments where they kick themselves in the foot and they did that again against Man United last weekend, where Sander Berge gave the ball away in his own half and it lead to a United goal. They need to snap out of these moments if they're to stay up.

Newcastle were on the ropes a bit in the first half against Sheffield United but they were much improved after the break as they blew the Blades away.

The Magpies haven't been as good away this season but with Burnley having such a terrible record at home, I think Eddie Howe's side will come away with the victory here.

PREDICTION: 0-2

SHEFFIELD UNITED V NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Sheffield United's relegation was sealed last weekend and all Chris Wilder's have left to play for is a strong end to the season. That is so they have some momentum to take with them into the Championship next season.

Nottingham Forest gave Man City a good game last weekend and they arguably deserved something from the game. Especially with the chances they had.

I never trust Forest away from home because they've been so poor on their travels since they've been in the Premier League. But I do think they'll get a rare away win here as the Blades will still be hurting from their relegation.

PREDICTION: 1-3

MAN CITY V WOLVES

Man City were beaten 2-1 in the reverse fixture and one of the key reasons why was because they were without Rodri. Rodri will be available for this one though and when he play, City never seem to lose. They haven't lost any of their last 70 games in which Rodri has played.

They welcomed back Erling Haaland last weekend in their win at Nottingham Forest last weekend and he marked his return with a goal off the bench. He should definitely start this one now he's back.

Wolves ended their long wait for a win with victory against Luton last weekend which should give them the confidence to end the season strongly.

Wolves will definitely score here as they'll have both Hwang Hee Chan and Matheus Cunha available. But I think City will have too much quality for them.

PREDICTION: 3-1

SUNDAY:

BRIGHTON V ASTON VILLA

Brighton are ending the season in poor form as things stand and manager Roberto De Zerbi doesn't seem to be bothered. His body language both on the touchline and in press conferences show that.

There is a chance that the Seagulls' poor form could cost De Zerbi the chance to manage a big club and I asked a question relating to that in my key points of the weekend post. His stock was very high a few months ago but it might not be now.

Aston Villa come into this game off the back of their Europa Conference League tie against Olympiakos on Thursday and might feel a bit tired as a result of it.

But I don't see that being the case here as Unai Emery's side should have enough to beat an out of sorts Brighton team. Especially as they're in better form.

Villa won the reverse fixture 6-1 back in September and although I don't see this game being as one sided, I still think Villa will win comfortably.

PREDICTION: 0-3

CHELSEA V WEST HAM

Chelsea still have a realistic chance of finishing in the European places and having a game in hand will certainly strengthen their hopes.

They played well in their win over Spurs last night but whether they can follow that up remains to be seen as they've been so inconsistent this season.

West Ham got a deserved draw against Liverpool last weekend and Jarrod Bowen's return from injury was crucial. He was a big miss for them in the games prior to that game.

The Hammers won the reverse fixture 3-1 back in August which should give them some belief heading into this one. But their record at Stamford Bridge is pretty poor.

David Moyes' side aren't in good form coming into this game and with Chelsea having a decent record at home, I think the blues will come out on top here.

PREDICTION: 2-1

LIVERPOOL V TOTTENHAM

Liverpool's title hopes look all but done and the only realistic thing they have left to play for is a strong end to the season.

It will be interesting to see if Mohamed Salah starts following his touchline altercation with Klopp against West Ham. He must've been frustrated with starting on the bench which I can understand as he's Liverpool's talisman.

Spurs were poor against Chelsea last night and their top four hopes appear to be good as over following three straight defeats.

Some fans were beginning to question Ange Postecoglou after that game which I find surprising and unfair. They might not be in good form at the moment, but they haven't had a bad season considering that they lost their best player in the summer.

I think Liverpool will show a reaction here as they've had a week to work on the aspects of their game that haven't gone so well. I imagine that Klopp has given them another kick up the backside as well.

Spurs have a terrible record at Anfield and may feel a bit tired after playing in midweek.

There definitely be goals here and I think Liverpool will be the side that comes out on top.

PREDICTION: 3-2

MONDAY:

CRYSTAL PALACE V MAN UNITED

Crystal Palace won the reverse fixture at Old Trafford back in September and they'll fancy themselves to do the same here. Especially with the recent form they've been in.

The Eagles are certainly a more enjoyable team to watch than United at the moment and especially when they have both Eze and Olise available.

Eze missed their draw at Fulham last season through injury and is a doubt for this game. But they will have Olise available which is a big plus.

Man United were fortunate to get a draw against Burnley last weekend and they had Andre Onana to thank for keeping them in the game, until his costly mistake late on.

I don't see United being convincing here like they have been for much of the season. But I do think they'll somehow get a result and there have been a number of games where they've got results without being at their best.

PREDICTION: 1-1
