Premier League Predictions: Matchweek 34

SATURDAY:

LUTON V BRENTFORD

This is a must win game for Luton and the same could be said for their remaining home games. Especially their next one which is against Everton.

The Hatter have been tough to beat at home this season but they have also made some costly mistakes. The kind of mistakes you can't afford to make at Premier League level.

Brentford ended their long wait for a win last weekend against Sheffield United which should give them the confidence to end the season strongly. That win should be enough to secure their safety for another season.

I think Luton will definitely get a result here as they're at home but with the mistakes they've made recently, I can see Brentford punishing those mistakes as they have the players to do that.

PREDICTION: 2-2

SHEFFIELD UNITED V BURNLEY

These two finished in the top two of the Championship last season and are both set for a swift return together.

Sheffield United have conceded a lot of goals at home recently but they did show some fight in their last two home games against Fulham and Chelsea. Chris Wilder will need his side to show more of that fight in this one.

Burnley again shot themselves in the foot last weekend against Brighton with Ari Muric's mistake costing them a crucial win. They might've stopped conceding goals for un recently but they still have that tendency to shoot themselves in the foot.

A win for Vincent Kompany's side here will give them a very good chance of staying up as it would take them to within three points of safety.

But I don't see that happening here as I think the Blades might just nick this one. Especially as they're at home.

PREDICTION: 2-1

WOLVES V ARSENAL

Wolves saw Matheus Cunha and Hwang Hee Chan make their returns from injury last weekend against Nottingham Forest and their returns will no doubt be a massive boost for them.

They're still without Neto but with CUnha and Hwang back, Wolves have a good chance of ending the season strongly.

It's been a tough week for Arsenal as their defeat to Villa last weekend was followed up by another one against Bayern Munich in midweek. Mikel Arteta will need to pick his side up ahead of this one so they don't have another title collapse.

Wolves will cause Arsenal problems in this one and especially with Cunha and Hwang back. But I think the Gunners will bounce back and get their title hopes back on track.

PREDICTION: 1-2

FA CUP SEMI FINAL

MAN CITY V CHELSEA

Man City will have been kicking themselves for not taking their chances against Real Madrid in midweek and especially in the second half which was their best spell.

Their focus will now be on winning the other two trophies they have left to play for including the FA Cup.

Pep usually plays a strong team in the cup competitions and although his side did play an extra half an hour in midweek, I don't see him make too many changes for this one.

Chelsea put in their best performance of the season against Everton on Monday and it got me asking why they can't produce that kind of performance every week.

Mauricio Pochettino's side took points off City both home and away in the Premier League this season which will give his side some confidence heading into this one.

The Blues will definitely make it a close game as they have performed well when facing the big teams in the Premier League. But I think with will have enough quality to get themselves over the line here.

PREDICTION: 2-0

SUNDAY:

EVERTON V NOTTINGHAM FOREST

Everton simply did not turn up against Chelsea on Monday and Sean Dyche will demand a reaction from his side in this one. Especially with it being against a relegation rival who were also deducted points.

The Toffees' home form was key in them staying up last season but this season their home form hasn't been as good. They need to rebuild that fortress they once had.

Nottingham Forest have again struggled on the road this season but their record is better than it was last season where they won just once.

Because of Forest's poor away form, I'm backing Everton to show a response and bounce back here.

PREDICTION: 2-0

ASTON VILLA V BOURNEMOUTH

Aston Villa were excellent all over against Arsenal last weekend and they have the chance here to put themselves firmly in the driving seat in the race for the top four. Especially with Spurs not playing this weekend.

Bournemouth were very unlucky not to beat Man United last weekend and I say that because they were the better side for most of the match.

Gareth Southgate might be watching this game very closely and the two players he will be having a close look at will surely be Ollie Watkins and Dominic Solanke - two players who could be in his Euro 2024 squad. Watkins is of course leading the way to be Harry Kane's back up but Solanke could also be in that conversation with the form he's been in.

Villa might not be as good at home as they were earlier in the season, but they should still have enough quality to come away with the points here.

PREDICTION: 3-1

CRYSTAL PALACE V WEST HAM

Crystal Palace got a big and much needed win last weekend against Liverpool which will give them a lot of confidence heading into the rest of the season.

The Eagles had both Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise on the pitch at the same time in that game and having them both back is a major boost for them.

West Ham come into this one off the back of playing in Europe and they could again be without Jarrod Bowen who missed their defeat to Fulham through injury.

With Palace having both Eze and Olise available and West Ham likely to again be without Bowen, I fancy the Eagles to bag another win here.

PREDICTION: 2-0

FULHAM V LIVERPOOL

Fulham gave Liverpool a good game when the two sides met at Anfield in December and they also pushed them close in the Carabao Cup semi finals.

Marco Silva's side have been strong at home this season and they'll definitely fancy their chances here because of that alongside Liverpool hitting a dip in form.

Liverpool's season is beginning to fall apart and one of the reasons why is because they haven't been clinical enough in front of goal. A lack of cutting edge has cost them in recent games and especially against Crystal Palace last weekend where they had a host of chances.

I think their wastefulness in front of goal could cost them again here and I also feel that they might feel a bit leggy after playing in midweek.

PREDICTION: 1-0

FA CUP SEMI FINAL

COVENTRY V MAN UNITED

Coventry's last visit to Wembley was the Championship play-off final last season where they lost to eventual winners Luton. Mark Robins' side will be looking to head back there again this season whilst they still have a chance of reaching the play offs.

The Sky Blues have come a long way under Mark Robins who took over when they were in League 2 and avoided going out of business. For his side to be in an FA Cup semi final some years later is an incredible achievement.

Man United's season could be decided here and so too could Erik Ten Hag's future as the FA Cup is the only thing they have left to play for this season.

There will be a lot of pressure on United here because of that alongside their recent performances which have all been below par.

They need to show a reaction here and I think they will because they'll definitely have enough to beat a Coventry side who don't have players of United's calibre.

PREDICTION: 0-2
