FRIDAY:
CHELSEA V LUTON
Chelsea played well in the first half of their defeat to West Ham and created numerous chances throughout the game. But they weren't able to take them and it was what cost them.
It will take time for Pochettino to work out what his best team is and to get Chelsea back to where they were. But his side need to find a goal scorer because goals appear to still be their Achilles heal like it was last season.
Luton were taught a Premier League lesson by Brighton in their opening game a couple of weeks ago and will be expected to learn some tough ones as the season progresses. They could learn another tough one here.
They've had two weeks to prepare for this game because of their game against Burney being postponed due to the works going on at Kenilworth Road. This could give them a physical advantage here but I don't see them making the most of it.
This is their first big test of the season and I can definitely see them learn another harsh lesson.
PREDICTION: 3-0
SATURDAY:
BOURNEMOUTH V TOTTENHAM
Bournemouth started well against Liverpool where they went ahead early and had some decent chances. They'll take positives from the game which was one they didn't deserve to lose 3-1.
Spurs have made a decent start under Ange Postecoglou under whom the football is much better to watch. They're starting games on the front foot and are committing more men forward which is something Spurs fans haven't seen for a while.
They deserve a lot of credit for the way they've started the season and especially after losing their best player in Harry Kane. They still need to buy a replacement for him but Spurs can still feel satisfied with their start without him.
Spurs are however likely to be without James Maddison for this one after he went off with an ankle injury in the win over Man United. If he's fit, Spurs should win because of the impact he's already made on the team. But I don't see Spurs risking him here as Potecoglou may want to have a fully fit squad.
They'll still play the way they have done recently but I can also see Bournemouth go for it as well.
PREDICTION: 1-1
ARSENAL V FULHAM
Arsenal showed resilience after going a man down against Crystal Palace on Monday and they had to as Palace ended the game reasonably strongly. Them showing resilience is a sign of them being potential title challengers.
Fulham gave it a good go when taking on the big teams last season and will set themselves up to do the same again this season. But without Aleksandar Mitrovic who left for Saudi side Al-Hilal during the week, I don't see them going toe to toe with them.
I do worry for the Cottagers a bit after losing Mitrovic because of how important he was for them last season. They should have enough to avoid relegation but Marco Silva's side need to replace his goals or it will be a season of struggle.
This game could show us how much they'll miss him.
PREDICTION: 2-0
BRENTFORD V CRYSTAL PALACE
Brentford have coped well without Ivan Toney so far this season with both Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo stepping up. The pair have scored all 5 of the Bee's goals between them this season.
Every game between these two has ended in a draw since Brentford were promoted to the Premier League and I can see that changing here.
Crystal Palace will be resolute like they were against Arsenal on Monday but I think they'll miss Michael Olise's pace and creativity in the final third. Eze can provide that but I feel that the Eagles are a better side with both of them available.
With Brentford arguably having more goals in their side than Palace do, I think Thomas Frank's side will edge this one.
PREDICTION: 2-1
EVERTON V WOLVES
These two sides have the same problem. Scoring goals. Both were the lowest scorers in the league last season and their problems in front of goal have been carried into this season.
Everton are bottom of the league without a single goal scored but had problems at the other end against Aston Villa. Their defending all game was shocking and Sean Dyche even said that he could've brought off the whole team at half time.
Losing Dominic Calvert-Lewin to another injury is a massive blow as he's arguably their only major goal threat. They need to bring someone in or they're going to be in another relegation scrap which looks very likely.
Wolves also got thumped at the weekend with Brighton ripping them to shreds. They were decent in their opening game defeat at Man United but against Brighton they were all over the place.
I think both will be better defensively here but with their problems in front of goal, this game has a goalless draw written all over it.
PREDICTION: 0-0
MAN UNITED V NOTTINGHAM FOREST
Man United have not looked convincing this season and that's probably down to a lack of fitness. That was definitely the case against Spurs where they looked lethargic all over. Their midfield got completely overrun and they solely lacked a no.9.
The won't be convincing here but I do think they'll win as they're at home where they haven't lost in over a year.
Nottingham Forest got off the mark last week with their win over Sheffield United but that game was at home. They're away for this one and their away form last season was terrible. I don't see that changing here.
PREDICTION: 2-0
BRIGHTON V WEST HAM
Brighton have a good record against West Ham to whom they have never lost in the Premier League. They did the double over the Hammers last season which included a 4-0 win in this fixture. But I don't see them winning as convincingly as that here.
The Seagulls have started the season brilliantly and without two of their key men from last season in Mac Allister and Caceido. They're top of the league, scoring goals and playing some brilliant football. They're without a doubt one of the best teams to watch in the Premier League.
West Ham got a good win last time out against Chelsea where they were organised and had a plan. Chelsea might've had most of the possession but the Hammers had a plan and executed it well. Even after going a man down.
They again won't have much of the ball in this one, as Brighton are a side who like to have possession. They move the ball fast and I can see the speed of their play being too much for the Hammers.
PREDICTION: 3-1
SUNDAY:
BURNLEY V ASTON VILLA
Burnley had their moments in their opening day defeat to Man City a couple of weeks ago but the challenge was too much for them.
They haven't played since that game which could give them an advantage here as they've had two weeks to prepare for this game. Villa on the other hand will have had a few days having played in Europe during the week.
Unai Emery's side will need to get used to the European schedule if they're to compete on both fronts. But I don't think they have the strength in depth to do so. They have some very talented players but they might need to bring in one or two new faces to have a big enough squad to compete both in Europe and the Premier League.
Villa's last away game saw them heavily exposed defensively against Newcastle in their opening game. Burnley were brilliant to watch in the Championship last season and with the way they play, I can see them exploit that.
They're going to cause some surprises this season and I'm backing them to cause a shock here. Especially as they're at home where they'll need to be strong.
PREDICTION: 2-1
SHEFFIELD UNITED V MAN CITY
Sheffield United showed more attacking endeavour in their loss to Nottingham Forest unlike in their opening game against Crystal Palace where they hardly showed any. They may have lost but Paul Heckingbottom will have still been encouraged by the fight his players showed.
I don't see them showing much here as they're not going to see much of the ball. City are going to have the majority of possession and I think they'll have too much for the Blades.
Man City might be without Kevin De Bruyne, but Phil Foden is capable of stepping up like he did against Newcastle in a more central position. He's surely got to keep his place in the team after a performance like the on the put in and I think he'll have another good one here.
PREDICTION: 0-4
NEWCASTLE V LIVERPOOL
Newcastle lost this fixture 2-0 last season and were without Bruno Guimaraes who was a big miss. The Brazilian will be available for this one and the Magpies will stand a better chance because of what he brings to the team.
The Magpies were in the game against Man City last weekend but didn't create an awful lot.
They'll definitely have their chances here as Liverpool can be got at defensively. Eddie Howe's side have the pace in their attack to cause them problem which I think they will.
Liverpool will be glad that Alexis Mac Allister's red card against Bournemouth got overturned because firstly it was never a red and secondly they need him for this game in particular. The reds will need his energy in the midfield if they're to win here because Newcastle are almost certainly going to go toe to toe with them. They'll need to be at their best here.
The reds do look suspect at the back but they do have some good attacking options. The Magpies may be the better team defensively, but I think Liverpool's strength in depth in their attack will enough for them to get a result here.
PREDICTION: 2-2
