SATURDAY:
BRIGHTON V MAN UNITED
Brighton were outstanding in Fabian Hurzeler's first game in charge against Everton and they'll come into this one with bags of confidence on board.
The Seagulls have a decent record against United at home, winning 4 of their 7 games against them at the AMEX. They'll be looking to build on that here after their impressive performance on the opening day against Everton.
Man United weren't fantastic on the opening day against Fulham and I wasn't expecting them to be as I didn't know what kind of team would show up. Joshua Zirkzee certainly made a difference when he came on and he'll surely start in this one because of the impact he made off the bench.
Like last week, I have no idea which Man United will turn up here. With Brighton arguably having more confidence on board and a decent record in this fixture, I fancy them to bag another win here.
PREDITION: 2-0
CRYSTAL PALACE V WEST HAM
Both sides lost their opening game of the season and whoever loses this one could find themselves under a lot of pressure heading into their next game.
There were positives for Crystal Palace to take from their defeat at Brentford and they were unlucky not to come away with a draw, after Eberechi Eze had his goal controversially disallowed.
West Ham were disappointing in their opening game against Aston Villa and Julen Lopetegui will want his side to put in a response here.
The Hammers used to have a good record in this fixture, but i's Palace who have had the better record in recent times.
The Eagles have won this fixture for the last two seasons and I can see them bag another with a positive performance.
PREDICTION: 3-1
FULHAM V LEICESTER
Fulham looked promising in the first half against Man United which was their best spell of the game. But they weren't able to make the most of it as they later got punished.
They could give new signing Sander Berge his debut here and I think he could be a good signing for them. He's probably going to play as a defensive midfielder, as that is the position where Fulham have needed strengthening after losing Joao Palhinha.
Leicester looked second best up until they scored their equaliser against Spurs on Monday where Steve Cooper's gamble to play Jamie Vardy, who hadn't played a minute in pre-season, paid off as the veteran was the one who got the equaliser.
Fulham had a decent record at home last season and I can see them keep it up this season with victory here.
PREDICTION: 2-0
MAN CITY V IPSWICH
Man City started off with a straight forward win over Chelsea on the opening day where they managed it without the influential Rodri.
Mateo Kovacic stepped up brilliantly in the Spaniard's absence and his performance could be a reminder that City may not miss Rodri as much as they did last season.
Ipswich looked decent in the first half against Liverpool and their performance during that period will give them some encouragement coming into this game.
I don't see them following it up though as City will go at them from the off like they do every other week.
I can see the champions punish them here and win comfortably. Especially as they're at home.
PREDICTION: 4-0
SOUTHAMPTON V NOTTINGHAM FOREST
Southampton played well in their opening game against Newcastle where they were unlucky not to come away with anything.
The saints lost both games against Forest in their last season in the Premier League but I don't see that happening this season.
Nottingham Forest started off with a draw against Bournemouth in their opening game, but their away form since they've been in the Premier League has been dreadful.
The Saints will probably have most of the ball here like they did against Newcastle as they're a possession based side.
With Forest being poor away from home, I fancy the Saints to get their first win here.
PREDICTION: 2-0
TOTTENHAM V EVERTON
Spurs were in complete control against Leicester on Monday up until they conceded the equaliser. New signing Dominic Solanke missed a number of good opportunities that night, but hopefully they won't drain his confidence.
Everton were awful in their opening game against Brighton after a fairly promising start. Their defending was woeful and very unlike them as they're usually tough to break down.
Sean Dyche's side will be up against another high intensity side in this one and I think they'll again get ripped apart.
Spurs did miss a lot of chances against Leicester on Monday, but I think they'll be more clinical here and punish Everton, who I think will look feeble defensively like they were against Brighton.
PREDICTION: 4-0
ASTON VILLA V ARSENAL
Aston Villa did the double over Arsenal last season and Unai Emery's side will be looking to do the same again against his former club.
Villa will be thankful that they kept Jhon Duran after he scored the winner against West Ham, the club who tried to sign him no less. Keeping him will be crucial as he's a useful squad player after showing that last season.
Arsenal got off to a good start on the opening day with a comfortable win over Wolves, but they did need David Raya to make a couple of crucial saves when the score was at 1-0 including the one he make to deny Strand Larsen.
The Gunners didn't show up the last time the two sides met and that result at the Emirates was probably what cost them the title.
Mikel Arteta will need his side to be at it every week if they're to win the title this season, but I think Villa will get the better of them here once again.
PREDICTION: 2-0
SUNDAY:
BOURNEMOUTH V NEWCASTLE
Bournemouth could hand new signing Evanilson his debut here following his arrival from Porto and I think he could be a good signing and replacement for Dominic Solanke.
The Cherries got a creditable draw against Forest on the opening day where their second half performance was much improved.
Newcastle deserve credit for holding on for the three points with 10 men against Southampton, who deserved something from the game.
It will be interesting to see if Kieron Trippier plays a part in this game after announcing earlier today that he wants to leave the club, so he can play first team football. I was quite surprised to hear this as he's been ever present in the Magpies side since he's been at the club.
Tino Livramento played the full 90 at right back against Southampton and there is every chance that Eddie Howe will stick with him as he's looking to the future and Livramento is a young player with a bright future ahead of him.
Both teams will go for it here as they're both front foot minded teams. I think Newcastle will claim the victory though as I think they'll have enough quality to do so.
PREDICTION: 1-3
WOLVES V CHELSEA
Wolves did the double over Chelsea last season including a 2-1 win in this fixture on Christmas Eve.
Gary O'Neil's side had one or two decent chances in their opening game against Arsenal, but overall they lacked firepower on the day.
There were positives to take for Chelsea in their defeat to Man City, but things did not click for them in the final third.
Raheem Sterling could well be on his way out of the club after being dropped for two consecutives games which have lead him to losing the no.7 shirt.
It's clear that he is no longer part of Enzo Maresca's plans and that statement his representatives put out before the City game had pretty much sealed his fate as a Chelsea player.
The blues will probably make changes for this one as Marsca is trying to work out what his best 11 is, and it could take some time because of how bloated his squad is.
After doing the double over them last season, I fancy Wolves to bag another victory over them here as I can see them look more like a team.
PREDICTION: 2-1
LIVERPOOL V BRENTFORD
Liverpool's home form was a real catalyst for them under Jurgen Klopp and will Arne Slot be able to keep it up ahead of his first home game in charge?
He got a good win in his first game in charge against Ipswich where he made a big decision in bringing off Jarrell Quansah and replacing him with Ibrahima Konate. That change was ruthless, but it paid off as the reds came out stronger in the second half.
Brentford got off to a good start with victory over Crystal Palace in their opening game where they showed life without Ivan Toney, with Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa once again stepping up in his absence.
Toney has reportedly returned to training this week, but there are still questions over his future and he was dropped last week because of the speculation surrounding his future.
Liverpool are still waiting on their first signing, but I think they'll have more than enough quality to beat the bees. Especially as they're at home.
PREDICTION: 3-0
