FRIDAY:
CRYSTAL PALACE V TOTTENHAM
Crystal Palace got ripped to shreds by Newcastle last week and I fear that something similar might happen here as Spurs also have some quality attacking players.
Spurs have played some brilliant football under Ange Postecoglou this season and I can very much see them cause Palace the kind of problems that Newcastle caused them. Especially with someone like James Maddison in their side who has been an incredible signing for them.
The Eagles should show a bit more here as they're at home where they're usually solid. But I still think Spurs will win this one reasonably comfortably with the quality they have in attack.
PREDICTION: 0-3
SATURDAY:
CHELSEA V BRENTFORD
Chelsea played very well against Arsenal last weekend up until Robert Sanchez gave the ball to Declan Rice which turned the game in the opposite direction.
The blues are steadily improving under Mauricio Pochettino with the recent results they've had which have matched their performances and have given them confidence.
But I do worry about them at home where they've won just once in 12 league games at Stamford Bridge. Pochettino needs to address this and quickly if his side are to push further up the table.
Brentford have won this fixture for the last two seasons and will fancy themselves to do the same again after picking up a massive win against Burnley last weekend.
That win should be the result to kick start their season and with Chelsea struggling at home, I fancy the Bees to get another win over them here.
PREDICTION: 0-2
ARSENAL V SHEFFIELD UNITED
Arsenal were second best for most of their draw with Chelsea last weekend but they did show character to come from behind and get a result.
The Gunners will be without Gabriel Jesus for this one after going off injured against Sevilla in midweek which is a big blow for Mikel Arteta's side. Especially as he made such a difference for them on the night in setting up the opener for Martinelli and scoring the second himself.
Sheffield United have improved slightly since their 8-0 drubbing to Newcastle in that they've haven't been as easy to play against. They were also unlucky not to come away with a result against Man United last week.
With Arsenal likely to put in a much stronger display than Man United did against the Blades last week, I think they'll win this one rather comfortably.
PREDICTION: 4-0
BOURNEMOUTH V BURNLEY
This is a must win for both sides and especially Bournemouth who are still waiting for their first win under Andoni Iraola.
The Cherries have two tough games after this one against Man City and Newcastle which follow a tough Carabao Cup tie at Liverpool. Another winless result here could see Iraola under serious pressure.
Burnley were poor defensively against Brentford like they have been pretty much all season. They do play some decent stuff at times but they leave too many gaps in behind their defence which is something they'll need to address quickly.
I do think they'll get something here though as Bournemouth are a side who are currently low on confidence. The Cherries will score but I still think the Clarets will edge it as they have a clear identity in the way they play unlike Bournemouth.
PREDICTION: 1-2
WOLVES V NEWCASTLE
Wolves boss Gary O'Neil will have enjoyed his sides' win over Bournemouth last week where he definitely proved a point.
He's made a decent start as Wolves manager and deserves a lot of credit for the job he's done. Especially given the circumstances he walked into when he first arrived.
Newcastle I thought were unlucky against Dortmund in midweek as they had a number of good opportunities and especially towards the end. But they weren't able to take them.
Losing Sandro Tonali for the rest of the season is a massive blow as I saw him as someone who could take the Magpies to the next level. Especially after his debut performance against Aston Villa on the opening day.
I think the Magpies will be a bit off the pace in this one as a result of them playing in Europe in midweek. Wolves will definitely make it difficult for them and I think they'll make the most of Eddie Howe's side being slightly off the pace here.
PREDICTION: 1-1
SUNDAY:
WEST HAM V EVERTON
West Ham were poor against Aston Villa last weekend and I wasn't expecting the performance they put in at all. I thought it was going to be a closer game than it actually was.
They might've played in Europe during the week, but I do think the Hammers will show a reaction here as they're at home and also have a good recent record in this fixture.
Everton have lost this fixture for the last two seasons and knowing the problems they've had in front of goal this season, I can see them draw another blank here.
PREDICTION: 2-0
ASTON VILLA V LUTON
Aston Villa are flying at the moment and are looking like a side who are going places under Unai Emery.
It's been nearly a year since Emery took over at Villa Park and the progress they've made under him has been incredible. They were facing a possible relegation battle when he took over and now they're pushing for Europe.
Luton have improved by each game since getting hammered by Brighton on the opening day and they showed character to come from behind and claim a draw against Nottingham Forest.
But I think they'll take a backwards step here as Villa are at home and in great form. Especially at home.
PREDICTION: 3-0
BRIGHTON V FULHAM
The amount of games being played are beginning to catch up with Brighton as the injuries are beginning to stack up. Both Solly March and Danny Welbeck are set for a long spell on the side-lines.
Roberto De Zerbi has spoken about the amount of games his side have to play on a number of occasions already this season and it's something the Seagulls will need to get used to.
Fulham had their chances against Spurs on Monday but they weren't able to take them. They've scored just 8 goals this season and it's quite clear that they're missing Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The Cottagers won this fixture 1-0 last season and with Brighton likely to feel a bit tired as a result of them playing in Europe during the week, I fancy Marco Silva's side to get another result here. But only a point.
PREDICTION: 1-1
LIVERPOOL V NOTTINGHAM FOREST
Liverpool deserved their win in the Merseyside Derby last weekend, but I do think they were a little bit fortunate in that Konate probably should've been sent off for two yellow cards.
The reds should definitely win this one because them being at home where they have such a good record and also because of Forest being poor on the road.
Nottingham Forest will be kicking themselves for letting a two goal lead slip against Luton last weekend and the defending for both goals was just poor.
Steve Cooper's side haven't won in the league since beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and they now find themselves six points above the drop zone after a decent start.
They could do with a win so they can give themselves some breathing space between themselves and the bottom three. But I don't see it happening here.
PREDICTION: 3-0
MAN UNITED V MAN CITY
Man United have been far from convincing this season and they'll need to put in their best performance if they're to get something here. But I just don't see it.
It was good to see Harry Maguire get on the scoresheet against Copenhagen in midweek and it looks like he might be hitting a turning point in his Man United career. But we'll have to wait and see if that's the case.
Man City are absolute miles ahead of United and have been for some time. The gap appeared to have been reduced when United won this fixture last season but given the nature of United's performances this season, the gap is still very big and this game could prove it.
I'm definitely handing City the win here and a comfortable one too as I don't see United being anywhere near it.
There have been questions around Erling Haaland's form recently which is find absolute rubbish. He's the top goal scorer in the league with 9 goals and I can see big add one or two more in this one.
PREDICTION: 0-3
