The Premier League fixtures for the 2024/25 season were released earlier today and there are some interesting games to look forward to when the season kicks off.
The biggest game of the opening weekend has to be champions Man City taking on Chelsea because of the size of both clubs and the history of the fixture. This game will be Enzo Maresca's first game in charge of Chelsea and he'll be up against his former master in Pep Guardiola, who he was an assistant to at City two seasons ago.
Julen Lopetegui kicks off his reign at West Ham with a tough home fixture against Aston Villa. Villa had a strong season last season and will be expected to have another one this season. This game will see two former Sevilla managers who won the Europa League go face to face in Lopetegui and Unai Emery.
Fabian Hurzeler kicks off his tenure at Brighton with a trip to Everton which will be a tough game for them as Everton are a tough side to play against under Sean Dyche. Hurzeler will be the youngest ever Premier League manager at 31 when this game comes around.
Man United have a winnable start as they'll be kicking off the season against Fulham at home. United had a terrible season last season and Erik Ten Hag, who is staying at the club for another season, will need his side to get off to a strong start if they're to avoid a similar campaign. The pressure will be on him to despite talks of him signing a new deal.
Arsenal also have a winnable start as they'll be kicking off the season against Wolves, who have a tricky start as they'll be facing Chelsea in their second game.
All three newly promoted have tough opening fixtures with Ipswich having the toughest as they'll be facing Liverpool, in Arne Slot's first game in charge of the reds. Manager less Leicester kick off against Spurs whilst Southampton kick off against Newcastle.
Ipswich have the toughest start out of all them as they'll be facing Man City after their opening day clash against Liverpool.
