Premier League 2023-24 Season Review: Every Club Rated

The latest Premier League season has come to an end and what a season it was. There was plenty of drama, lots of goals, many surprising moments and and a lot of controversy.

Now it's time for me to rate every club's season out of 10 based the seasons' they've had.

ARSENAL - 9

Missing out on the title again will be disappointing, but it was still another good season of progress. They were a much better team than they were last season as they had a stronger mentality and were very strong defensively. They

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: DECLAN RICE

One of the reasons why Arsenal have been a much better team this season is solely because of Rice. His presence in front of the defence has made the Gunners a solid team defensively and his leadership on the pitch has given the Gunners a stronger mentality.

ASTON VILLA - 8

What an incredible season. They secured Champions League qualification for the first time in many years and they kept themselves in around those places for the majority of the season. Unai Emery deserves a lot of credit for the job he's done as he's taken Villa onto the next level.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: OLLIE WATKINS

Watkins has been Villa's main man ever since Unai Emery took over and he showed why this season. His 19 goals were crucial to Villa finishing in the top four and his form this season earned him a recall to the England squad where he's likely to play second fiddle to Harry Kane.

BOURNEMOUTH - 7

A decent and fairly solid debut season for Iraola. Questions were asked of him earlier in the season following their poor start but from November onwards, he got them playing a good brand of football and they went on to secure a comfortable mid-table finish.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: DOMINIC SOLANKE

Solanke finally proved himself as a Premier League striker this season as he scored 19 goals. His goals were key to the Cherries finishing as high as they did and was unlucky not to be called up for England given the form he's been in.

BRENTFORD - 6

It was a tough season for the Bees as they struggled with injuries to key players and found themselves in a relegation fight. But it was still another solid season from them as they secured another season of Premier League football.

PLAYER OF SEASON: BRYAN MBEUMO

Mbeumo stepped up when Ivan Toney was unavailable earlier in the season and was a big miss for the Bees when he was out injured. The Bees were a much better side when he was available and he may need to step up again next season if Toney goes.

BRIGHTON - 6

It was a tough season for the Seagulls as they had European football to deal with along with a number of injuries. But they still managed to have a fairly solid season as they kept in touch with the European spots and stayed in the top 10, up until a poor end to the season cost them.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: PASCAL GROSS

Gross was arguably the Seagulls' most consistent player this season as he registered 10 assists and put in a number of key performances. He's played in a variety of positions this season and has done a decent job wherever he's been asked to play.

BURNLEY - 4

A poor season all round. They were very naïve in the way they played all season as they were exposed defensively on a number of occasions. They never had the quality or experience to compete at this level and they went down because of that.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: ZEKI AMDOUNI

Not many players stood out for the Clarets this season but if there was someone who did, it was Amdouni. He put in some encouraging performances over the course of the season and was one of the very few bright sparks of their season.

CHELSEA - 6

It was a topsy-turvy campaign for the blues as they were very inconsistent for the majority of it. But they did manage to secure European football thanks to a strong end to the season. Questions were asked of the manager all season and he deserves credit for getting them into Europe.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: COLE PALMER

It just had to be. Palmer carried the team for the pretty much the whole season with his 22 goals and 11 assists at the age of just 22. Without him, Chelsea would've finished much lower.

CRYSTAL PALACE - 6

It was a mostly underwhelming season from the Eagles as a number of uninspiring performances early on saw them almost get sucked into a relegation battle. Oliver Glasner then arrived to replace Roy Hodgson and he gradually steered them away from trouble and into the top 10 following a strong end to the season.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: EBERECHI EZE

He might've had some injury problems at times during the season, but Eze still managed to register 11 goals and 4 assists in 27 games which isn't a bad return. The Eagles were a much better team when he was available and they'll have a big job on their hands in trying to keep hold of him this summer.

EVERTON - 6

With everything that went on off the pitch, the Toffees went on to have a decent season as they stayed up. Sean Dyche deserves a lot of credit for the job he's done and if it wasn't for those points deductions, they'd be mid-table.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: JORDAN PICKFORD

Pickford has saved Everton's skins once again this season by making many crucial saves to keep them in games and being a solid presence between the sticks. He kept 10 clean sheets for the Toffees this season and without him, they might've gone down.

FULHAM - 6

It was a fairly solid season for the Cottagers as they were never in any trouble and comfortably secured another mid-table finish. They were always in games right throughout the season where they quietly went about their business.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: JOAO PALHINHA

Palhinha made more tackles than any other player this season and his presence in front of the defence makes Fulham a tough team to beat. The Cottagers will have another big job on their hands in trying to keep hold of him this summer as there will be a number of clubs chasing his signature once again.

LIVERPOOL - 8

Not winning the league in Klopp's final season will be disappointing but overall, it was a good season for the reds. Top four was the minimum for them at the start of the season and they went one better by putting themselves in contention for the title.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: VIRIGIL VAN DIJK

Van Dijk was back to his brilliant best this season by being his calm and composed self. The reds a better team defensively when he's in it because of the influence he has on the entire defence.

LUTON - 4

They showed a lot of fight and character throughout the season, but it wasn't enough as they ended up relegated. They'll feel proud with the effort they put it, but they were let down by some costly mistakes for which they got punished for.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: THOMAS KAMINSKI

Kaminski has arguably been the Hatters' most consistent player this season as he kept them in games time and time again. Ross Barkley was decent for them but without Kaminski, the Hatters might've gone down earlier. Only Andre Onana made more saves the Hatters stopper.

MAN CITY - 9

Another outstanding season for the champions as they won a fourth successive Premier League title, something that has never been done before. They turned it on towards the end of the season like they always do and that was what won it for them.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: PHIL FODEN

Foden has taken his game onto another level this season with 19 goals and 8 assists as City won another title. He stepped up as City's main man during Kevin De Bruyne's absence and he carried on being that player in the second half of the season. For me, he's been the player of the season.

MAN UNITED - 4

An absolute disaster of a season. Too many unconvincing performances all season and they lead them to missing out on Europe altogether. Another squad clear out is needed after their worst season in Premier League history.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: SCOTT MCTOMINAY

Not many United players stood out this season but if there was one who did, it was McTominay. He stepped up when United needed someone on a number of occasions this season by scoring some crucial goals and putting in some good performances in the midfield. He's someone the club should definitely keep hold of this summer.

NEWCASTLE - 6

It was a challenging season for the Magpies as they had a number of injuries and European football to deal with. But they did still manage to qualify for Europe thanks to a strong end to the season. It might not have been the season they had last year, but another season in Europe marks another decent season for Eddie Howe's side.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: ANTHONY GORDON

Gordon was arguably the Magpies' most consistent performer this season with his 11 goals and 10 assists being key to them securing another season in Europe. His good form was later rewarded with an England call up in March.

NOTTINGHAM FOREST - 6

Despite the problems they had off the pitch, on the pitch they did what they set out to do in securing their Premier League status for another season. The decision to sack Steve Cooper in December may have been a controversial call, but Nuno came in and gradually guided them to safety.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: MORGAN GIBBS-WHITE

Gibbs-White once again stepped up as Forest's go-to player with his contributions playing a key role in Forest staying up. He's been the heartbeat of the Forest attack all season.

SHEFFIELD UNITED - 2

An absolutely shocking season from start to finish. They were dreadful at both ends all season and especially in defence where they conceded a record breaking 104 goals. They never had the quality to compete at this level and they've gone down because of it.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: JAMES MCATEE

It might've been a shocking season for the Blades, but if there was one someone who stood out it was McAtee. The Man City loanee put in a number of decent performances thorughout the season and also popped up with some crucial goals. The Blades would love to have him back on loan again next season in the Championship.

TOTTENHAM - 7

Missing out on the top four will be disappointing, but they still had a decent season considering that they lost their best player in the summer in Harry Kane. The brand of football they played was much better than it has been in recent seasons and the season itself is one that they'll hopefully build on.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: MICKY VAN DE VEN

Van De Ven was solid at the back all season for Spurs and was arguably their most consistent player. Spurs were a much better team defensively when he was in it because of his ability to read the game and make crucial interventions.

WEST HAM - 7

Despite all the questions surrounding the manager's future, the Hammers still went on to have another decent season. They secured another top 10 finish which is where they deserve to be and their summer recruitment was very good also. But their form in the second half of the season was poor.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: JARROD BOWEN

The Hammers needed a new talisman following the departure of Declan Rice and Bowen stepped up as that player instantly. He scored 16 goals this season as the Hammers secure a top 10 finish and his good form was rewarded with a return to the England squad.

WOLVES - 7

It turned out to be a decent season for Wolves considering what happened in the summer. A relegation battle was expected following a quiet summer which lead to then-manager Julen Lopetegui departing on the eve of the season. Gary O'Neil later came in and and went one better by leading them to a comfortable mid-table finish.

PLAYER OF THE SEASON: HWANG HEE CHAN

Hwang was Wolves' joint top scorer alongside Matheus Cunha this season with 12 goals as Wolves were much improved in the final third. Wolves were a better side when he was available because they lacked an attacking threat without him in the side.
