Midweek Premier League Predictions

THURSDAY:

NEWCASTLE V BRIGHTON

Newcastle are starting to wobble a bit following a defeat and a draw in their last two games against Arsenal and Leeds respectively. They are still in a good position to finish in the top four but with Liverpool back in the race, they might be starting to look over their shoulder.

This is a must win game for Eddie Howe's side with it being a game in hand and especially as it's against a side who are also chasing European football. A win for the Magpies here will put them in pole position for a top four finish.

Brighton were outstanding against Arsenal on Sunday where they were excellent in every single department. They might've had one nervy moment when Jason Steele almost gave the ball away when trying to play out from the back but their all round performance was excellent from start to finish.

This game is one of two games in hand that Seagulls have with the other one coming against Man City next week. Both do look tough on paper but if they can get a point from at least one of them, it could be enough for them to secure European football for next season.

PREDICTION: 1-1

Most games between these two sides have ended in draws and I think this one be the same. Brighton will make it a tough game for Newcastle but I think the Magpies will have enough defensively to hold on for a draw.
