Man United v Chelsea: Combined XI's

CURRENT COMBINED 11:

GK: DAVID DE GEA - If I had to pick a keeper from either team, I would go with De Gea because we haven't seen enough of Mendy in a Chelsea shirt and he's one of the best keepers in the world on his day. He makes many world class saves when at his best and has been doing that recently.

RB: CESAR AZPILICUETA - Probably one of the most underrated defenders in Premier League history. Azpilicueta can play any where in defence and does a great job wherever he plays in that backline. He's great at both ends of the pitch because he's solid defensively and can be a threat going forward. That's why he is in.

CB: THIAGO SILVA - He may be getting on, but the experienced Brazilian defender is still top class. He times his tackles well and makes blocks and interceptions when needed to. He's been one of the best centre backs in the world due to the way he plays and his leadership skills on the pitch.

CB: HARRY MAGUIRE - He's not made a great start to the season, but on his day Maguire is still a good defender. He's good in the air and he's good on the ball which is what has made him a good defender over the years. When at his best, Maguire is one of the best centre backs in the league.

LB: BEN CHILWELL - Arguably the best English left back in the Premier League and has been for the last two or three seasons. He's solid defensively and is dangerous when going forward which is what you want from a full back these days. He looks set to be a good signing for Chelsea because of what he offers at both ends of the pitch.

CDM: N'GOLO KANTE - The best defensive midfielder in the world had to be in because of his energy and the amount of tackles and interceptions he completes during a game of football. He's like two players when he's at his best because of the amount of work he does on the pitch by winning tackles and blocking passes and shots.

CDM: PAUL POGBA - He can at times divide opinion, but Pogba on his day has the potential to be a top quality player. He has an excellent passing range and when given the freedom to express himself, he is able to burst into the box to either create a chance for a teammate or to score a goal himself. He's a talent without a shadow of a doubt.

RW: CHRISTIAN PULISIC - Pulisic was arguably Chelsea's best player at the end of last season by scoring lots of goals to help the blues qualify for the Champions League. He's in my team because we haven't seen enough of Ziyech in a Chelsea shirt and he is beginning to turn into an all round winger by creating and scoring goals for his team.

CAM: BRUNO FERNANDES - Fernandes is a complete midfielder. He creates lots of chances during a game and he scores goals. He's been a revelation since he's been at Old Trafford and when he plays well, United play well. There was no chance that I would leave him out.

LW: MARCUS RASHFORD - I had to have Rashford on the left hand side because of his pace and goals. He's growing into a top quality player season by season and I am putting him in this combined 11 because he's a goal threat and has the potential to be a top player.

ST: TIMO WERNER - Out of all the strikers between the two clubs, I had to put Werner in because he's a goal scorer and we haven't seen Cavani in the Premier League yet. Werner is a danger for any defence because of his pace and is beginning to come up with the goods after scoring twice against Southampton last weekend.

ALL TIME COMBINED 11:

PETR CECH - Out of all the keepers between the two clubs, I've gone with Cech because he was the best keeper in the league when at his best and has kept more clean sheets than any other keeper in Premier League history. He was a real presence between the sticks by being big and making big saves when needed to which made him a top keeper.

GARY NEVILLE - Easily the best right back in Premier League history. Neville was rock solid whenever he was on the pitch for Man United and was also a leader which is what United are lacking at the moment. There was no doubt that I would leave him out.

JOHN TERRY - JT is arguably the best centre back in Premier League history because of the way he read the game and the leadership skills he had both on and off the pitch. He knew where he needed to be and what position to take up when he needed to defend which is what made him a great defender.

RIO FERDINAND - Ferdinand was a complete centre back because he was good on the ball and was a solid defender. He was also a leader on the pitch which helped him develop as a player for both club and country. He was a vital player for United during Fergie's final years by being solid defensively alongside Nemanja Vidic.

ASHLEY COLE - It had to be Cole as my left back in this team because he was solid defensively and was occasionally a threat going forward. This is what made him the best left back in Premier League during his time at Stamford Bridge and it also enabled him to have a great career in the game.

CRISTIANO RONALDO - I would be mad to leave this guy out because he is an absolute machine on his day. Ronaldo scored any type of goal during his time at Old Trafford whether that was a mazy run into the box, a long range strike from open play, a free kick from outside the box or a bullet header. He developed into the best player in the world during his time at United.

FRANK LAMPARD - Now the boss of Chelsea, Lampard was one of the best box to box midfielders in the Premier League as a player because he scored lots of goals and helped his team out when they were on the back foot. He wanted to score goals whenever he walked into the six yard box because that was the kind of player he was.

PAUL SCHOLES - Scholes was an integral part of United's success under Fergie from the moment he broke into the first team to the moment he hung up his boots. He could create a chance from anywhere on the pitch and could score some goals as well which made him a complete midfielder. There was no way that I was going to not pick him.

RYAN GIGGS - Giggsy just had to be in because of the amount of games he played and the player he was throughout his career. He had the pace to beat anyone when at his best and even as he got older, he was still an effective player on the pitch. No way I was going to leave him out.

WAYNE ROONEY - Rooney had the potential to be one of the best players in the world at a young age and he proved it right up to his prime. He could score any kind of goal and was a nuisance for any defence because of his all round game and physique. Without a doubt one of the best strikers in Premier League history.

DIDIER DROGBA - Drogba was a complete striker during his days at Chelsea. He was quick, strong and physical which made him a difficult player to play against. He was a integral part of Chelsea's success in the early days of the Abramovich era and that is why he's in the team as well as being a complete centre forward.
