Key Points of the Weekend

Are the goals starting to flow for Chelsea?

Goals have been Chelsea's Achilles heal this season like it was for much of last season. But after scoring six goals in their last two games, are the goals beginning to flow for them?

They had more composure against Burnley on Saturday in they way they took their chances and composure is probably what they've been lacking. Unlike last season they have a identity in they way they want to play. But they haven't had the composure in front of goal to take the many chances they've missed.

Scoring four times against Burnley will definitely give them confidence heading into the international break, but they need to show this kind of showing on a regular basis if the goals are truly starting to flow.

Is Andoni Iraola under pressure?

No wins after 8 games and 19th in the table. It's been a tough start for Bournemouth under new boss Andoni Iraola who is still chasing his first win in charge. With some difficult games coming up after the international break, is Andoni Iraola under pressure?

The Cherries' next four games after the international break are against Wolves, Burnley, Man City and Newcastle. Wolves and Burnley will be the games that they'll target as their most important as they're both winnable and both teams are in and around them. City and Newcastle however will be more challenging for obvious reasons.

I said at the start of the season that it will take them time to fully get used to the way that Iraola wants them to play with it being a different brand of football. Their slow start to the season suggests that they're still adjusting.

The good news for Iraola is that he has an international break to look back at sides' performances and see what they can improve on. From that he should be able to come up with ways to help his side work on those improvements in training.

The board are also willing to give him time after spending a lot of money in the summer. But they don't win either of their next two against Wolves and Burnley, Iraola could be under pressure.

Arsenal win over City a statement of intent

Arsenal finally ended their long wait for a league victory over Man City on Sunday and they no doubt sent a statement out with their victory. A number of people at the start of the season were probably saying that City will walk away with the title this season. But on Sunday Arsenal showed everyone that they can be beaten and that they're up for the challenge.

It wasn't the perfect performance from the Gunners but for them to win or challenge for a title, you need to dig in to get certain results and they did that on Sunday. Defensively they kept Erling Haaland quiet and restricted City to very few clear cut chances as the champions had a rare off day in attack. A performance like that will give Mikel Arteta's side confidence and belief that they can seriously challenge City again this season.
