Is Luton's fate sealed?
Luton's hopes of Premier League survival were dealt a major blow on Saturday as they were heavily beaten 5-1 at home by Brentford. A result like that could really damage their confidence and that leads me to ask one question: Has their fate been sealed?
Rob Edwards' side are still in with a chance of staying up as they're only a point from safety so we shouldn't really rule them out. But when you lose a game 5-1 it can be tough to pick yourselves up as your confidence will be very low. Luton will be feeling exactly like that after their defeat to Brentford on Saturday.
The Hatters have four tough games to end the season with including their crucial relegation six pointer against Everton in two weeks at Kenilworth Road. How they react in those games could determine their fate.
Could Burnley stay up?
Burnley looked good as gone about a month ago but now they find themselves three points from safety following their 4-1 win at Sheffield United on Saturday. Are their survival hopes back on track?
Being three points from safety definitely gives them a chance as they know that a win will take them out of the bottom three as long as other results go in their favour. Their win at Sheffield United meanwhile will give them a lot of confidence to take into the rest of the season and especially with the amount of goals they scored on the day.
The Clarets do however have some tough fixtures to end the season with as they face Man United, Newcastle, Spurs and Nottingham Forest in their final four games. They also tend to shoot themselves in the foot on a number of occasions like they did in recent games against Brighton and Everton. They could have more of those moments before the season ends.
If they can snap out those shoot yourselves in the foot moments and carry the confidence gained from the Sheffield United win, they could have a decent chance of staying up.
Forest right to feel aggrieved over controversial decisions
Nottingham Forest had three penalty decisions go against them in their 2-0 defeat at Everton on Sunday and it lead them to sending out 'that' tweet on X. There was definitely a case for all three decisions and they're right to feel aggrieved over them.
The first penalty shout came in the first half where Ashley Young appeared to clip the ankle of Gio Reyna. The other two penalty shouts came in the second half where the ball hit Ashley Young on the arm for one and Ashley Young appearing to bring down Callum Hudson-Odoi for the other.
I can understand why the first one wasn't given as Reyna put his foot down after Young touched his ankle before going down. But contact was made even though there might not have been much.
The second one is a 50/50 depending on how you see the handball law. Young's arm is out when the ball hits it and he does move his arm towards the ball. But you could say that his arm is in an unnatural position and it had nowhere else to go.
The third one is a definite penalty as Young clearly doesn't get the ball when he makes that challenge on Hudson-Odoi. I'm surprised that VAR didn't send the referee over to the screen to have a look.
As for the tweet they sent out after the game, I thought it was unprofessional because it's not the sort of thing you should put on your social media page. In the tweet Forest said that the VAR official was a Luton fan and that they warned PGMOL about it. You can't use that as an excuse for those decisions costing you the game and you especially shouldn't reveal it on your social media page.
Palace must keep Eze and Olise this summer
Crystal Palace haven't been able to get both Michael Olise and Eberechi Eze on the pitch together for the majority of the season mainly because of injury. But when they have both been available on the odd occasions, Palace have been a much better team and the pair of them have shown how important they are in the process.
They both showed how much of a difference they can make against West Ham on Sunday with both them getting a goal and an assist and the majority of the Eagles' good play going through them. Palace simply have to keep hold of them both this summer.
That will of course be tough as there will be a number of clubs interested in signing them this summer due to the ability and potential they both have. They've both shown on a number of occasions that they're capable of playing for a bigger club and especially on the few occasions they've played together this season.
But because of how important they are to Palace, Oliver Glasner must keep hold of his two best players this summer or next season will be a tough one.
Jota and Trent returns crucial for Liverpool
Liverpool got their title bid back on track on Sunday with their 3-1 win at Fulham where two key players made their returns in Trent Alexander-Arnold and Diogo Jota. The pair of them made a difference on the day as they both scored and having them both back is key for the reds and their title challenge.
Jota's return is arguably the bigger boost as Liverpool have struggled in front of goal recently. Jota is one of the best finishers at the club and if there is one thing you need when challenging for the title, it's someone who can put the ball in the back of the net. The reds have lacked that player in recent weeks and with Jota back and back among the goals, the reds should definitely be more clinical in the final third.
Alexander-Arnold hasn't been as missed as Jota has because Conor Bradley has stepped up brilliantly in his absence. But the reds have missed his creativity at times and having that back in the team is massive boost for them. The reds have some tough games to end the season with and Alexander-Arnold's creativity both from set plays and open play will be key if they're to win their remaining fixtures.
