Key Points of the Weekend

Alexander Isak becoming key player for Newcastle

Alexander Isak kept up his fine form on Saturday as he netted twice in Newcastle's 4-0 win over Spurs to extend his goal tally to 17 for the season. With the form he's been in recently, he's beginning to become a key player for Newcastle.

Anthony Gordon has been by far the Magpies' best player this season but Isak has been another player who was stood out for them this season. His 17 league goals can back that up and are a sign of him being one of their key players.

He was brought into Newcastle to help them move onto the next level and to compete with Callum Wilson for the strikers spot in the team. He has stepped up brilliantly whilst Wilson has been out injured and he is very likely to keep his place in the team when Wilson comes back.

Advantage City in the title race

There was a twist in the title race at the weekend as both Arsenal and Liverpool dropped points which saw Man City return to the top of the league. With City now leading the way, you have to say that they now have the advantage in the title race.

You would probably make them favourites as they know what it takes to win a title and are also the in-form team out of the three challenging for the title. They usually step up it up a notch at this stage of the season as well and are likely to do the same again this season with the form they're in.

Being top of the league will certainly give them confidence and with Liverpool beginning to wobble and Arsenal possibly being affected by the pressure again, it looks like it's City's title to lose.

Liverpool's wasted chances will cost them the title

Poor finishing cost Liverpool against Man United the weekend before and it did so again against Crystal Palace on Sunday. They had a lot of chances against Palace like but they weren't able to take them and were later punished for it, just like they were against Man United.

These wasted chances will cost Liverpool the title if it continues because in order to win the title, you need to have players who can score goals. Both Man City and Arsenal have those players and they're both challenging for the title because of that. Liverpool do have some quality attacking players in their squad, but they're not firing at the moment.

Should Cole Palmer start for England at the Euros?

Cole Palmer's fine season continued last night as he netted four goals in Chelsea's 6-0 win over Everton. His four goals increased his goal tally to 20 for the season and is now joint top of the goal scorings charts with Erling Haaland. After another outstanding performance last night, should he start for England at the Euros?

Palmer starting at the Euro's will depend on what formation England decide to play. If England play a 4-2-3-1 like they have done in recent games, I wouldn't start him as Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden are likely to occupy the wide areas with Jude Bellingham playing as the no.10 behind Harry Kane.

But if England were to play a 4-3-3 formation, I would definitely start him because of the season he's having with Chelsea. He's more likely to play off the left as Bukayo Saka will probably start on the right and Palmer has played off the left at times for Chelsea this season. Him playing off the left will allow Phil Foden to play in the midfield three alongside Jude Bellingham and Declan Rice.

Palmer will definitely be in the squad because of the season he is having. But his chances of starting will depend on the formation England decide to play.
