Key Points of the Weekend

Is Jack Grealish putting himself back in England contention?

It's been a tough season for Jack Grealish mainly because of injuries which have impacted his form. But he reminded everyone of his abilities against Crystal Palace on Saturday as he was heavily involved when City went forward and caused Palace a number of problems. After this performance, is he putting himself back into England contention?

His performance against Crystal Palace will definitely give him a lot of confidence heading into the rest of the season and with the Euros coming up this summer, he'll be motivated to perform for his team so he can have the best possible chance of making that squad.

He might've however dropped down the pecking order after not being involved in the last international break because of injury, and this might decrease his chance of being involved. Anthony Gordon will have climbed above him after his impressive debut against Brazil and Gordon also is having a better season for his club. The same can be said for Cole Palmer, Bukayo Saka and Jarrod Bowen - all of whom Grealish will be competing with for a place in the squad alongside Gordon.

That competition could maybe prevent him from being part of the squad as they've all been better over the course of the season. But if he can play like he did against Palace in City's remaining games, he's got a good chance of being involved.

Should Wolves' equaliser have stood?

One of the main controversial moments over the weekend was Wolves' disallowed goal against West Ham on Saturday. Max Kilman had his goal disallowed because Tawanda Chirewa was standing in an offside position and interfering with the goalkeepers line of sight. But as Fabianski saw sight of the ball when Kilam touched it, should Wolves' equaliser have stood?

The offside law states; That a player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched by a team mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by interfering with an opponent by being to play the ball by clearly obstructing an opponents line of vision.

Chirewa was standing in front of Fabianski in an offside position as Kilman made contact with the ball. But he wasn't exactly blocking Fabianski's line of vision as Fabianski was able to see the ball when it touched Kilman's head. When reading this, the goal really should've stood as Chirewa wasn't clearly obstructing Fabianski's line of vision when Kilman made contact with the ball.

Wastefulness cost Liverpool again

Just like they were in the FA Cup a few weeks ago, Liverpool's wastefulness in front of goal and failure to fully make the most of their dominance again cost them against Man United on Sunday. They were so dominant in the first half as they had all the chances and most of the possession. But they weren't able to make the most of it as they wasted the majority of their chances and that later came back to bite them in the second half, as United came back into the game.

The reds did come away with a draw and they are still very much in the title race, but the draw will without a doubt feel like two points dropped because of how dominant they were and the chances they had. This result could potentially cost Liverpool the title.

Are Spurs now the favourites to finish in the top four?

Spurs climbed into the top four on Sunday following their 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest which took them above Aston Villa on goal difference. With Spurs not occupying that all important 4th spot, are they now favourites to finish in the top four?

I'm asking this question about them because they're not in Europe and this could give them a big advantage. Aston Villa meanwhile are in Europe and are beginning to show signs of a lack of strength in depth.

Villa are likely to pick up more injuries between now and the end of the season because of them being in Europe and I can see them go far in the Europa Conference League. Especially with someone like Unai Emery in charge. If they do pick up more injuries, there will be questions asked about their squad depth.

Spurs' credentials will definitely be tested as three of their remaining fixtures are against Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City. But they do have a game in hand which could also give them another advantage alongside not being in Europe. If they can keep key players fit and make the most of not being in Europe, they could be the favourites to clinch that final top four spot.
