Toney showing why the big clubs are after him
After netting on his full England debut against Belgium on Tuesday, Ivan Toney carried that performance with him into Brentford's draw with Man United on Saturday. He might not have scored, but he caused United a number of problems and was a handful all game. He showed why some of the big clubs are after him this summer.
Against United his movement off the ball was first class, he moved defenders around and he was always looking to find his teammates. All that alongside getting himself into positions to take shots at goal. You need to have all these attributes to play for the big clubs alongside and Toney has all of them alongside being a goal scorer.
He'll be near the top of any of the big clubs' lists in the summer. Arsenal and Chelsea in particular.
Wolves struggling without forwards
Wolves have been much improved in the final third this season as they've been more clinical than they have been in recent seasons. But since Pedro Neto, Hwang Hee Chan and Matheus Cunha have all been out of the side, they have struggled in that area of the field.
They really missed their three main forwards against Aston Villa at the weekend as they lacked a focal point up top and struggled to create clear cut opportunities. The same could be said about their FA cup tie against Coventry before the international break where they lacked an attacking threat in forward areas.
Wolves simply aren't the same team without those players and their last two games show that. They need any one of them back ASAP so they can end the season strongly and keep up the pressure on the teams pushing for Europe.
Are Liverpool now favourites for the title?
All three title chasing teams were in action on Sunday with Liverpool gaining the upper hand as their 2-1 win over Brighton moved them to the top of the Premier League. With Man City and Arsenal both dropping points following their goalless draw and the reds now being two points clear, are they now the favourites for the title?
Any team who is leading the way with 8 or 9 games to go should realistically go on and win the title and Liverpool will be feeling confident that they can. Being top at this stage will give them an advantage in the title race and they'll no doubt be determined to win it with this season being Klopp's final one in charge.
But I wouldn't say that they're favourites just yet as City have the ability to go on an incredible of form like they usually do at this stage of the season. They might be four points off Liverpool, but we still shouldn't write them off because of the experience they have in winning titles.
All three of the teams involved will drop points between now and the end of the season as all of them do have tough games to play in the run in. But if Liverpool can remain top till the beginning of May, they could be favourites for the title.
