Are David Moyes' days at West Ham becoming numbered?
West Ham are still waiting for their first win of 2024 and their 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest was their third loss in a row. With fans showing banners during the game indicating that they want David Moyes to go and the club not in good form; Are David Moyes' days at West Ham becoming numbered?
I can understand why some West Ham fans would want a change in manager as they haven't been happy with the brand of football they've been watching, and would like to see a more attacking style of play. Their current style of play has arguably played a part in their recent poor form as they've struggled to score goals and haven't shown enough attacking intent.
But the Hammers are still having a decent season as they're currently 9th and just two points outside the European places. They spent last season trying to avoid relegation and for them to be where they are this season shows massive improvement. They've had a lot of success under Moyes and because of that and the heights they've reached under his management, what more do the fans want? They're not going to challenge for a top four finish or above as they haven't got the quality that the top sides possess.
Their current form is a worry though and will need addressing if they're to stay in the mix for a place in Europe next season. If their form doesn't improve over the few weeks, Moyes' days could be numbered at West Ham.
Is Simon Adingra Brighton's next young superstar?
We've seen many gems come out of Brighton in recent years thanks to their excellent academy and recruitment. They might have anther one on their hands in Simon Adingra who was excellent in their 5-0 win at Sheffield United on Sunday. Could he be their next young superstar?
Adingra already has 7 goals and 3 assists to his name in all competitions this season with 6 of his goals coming in the Premier League including his double on Sunday against Sheffield United.
He was excellent throughout against the Blades as he caused them problems down the right hand side all game with his pace and crosses into the box. He took his first goal well which was a strike from outside the box whilst for his second he was in the right place at the right time.
His performance will definitely give him a lot of confidence and his stats from this season show that he's got end product. If he can put in more performances like the one he put in against Sheffield United, he could be Brighton's next young superstar.
Man United are back in the top four race
Man United had absolutely no chance of finishing in the top four not that long ago due to inconsistent results and a number of poor performances. But since the turn of the year, they've found some form and some much needed consistency which have put them right back in the race for a top four finish.
United are now 6th and 5 points off the the top four following their recent good form which has them in a really good position. With Spurs having lost at the weekend and Aston Villa showing some wobbling signs in recent games, Erik Ten Hag's side will feel that have a genuine chance of finishing in that top four.
They'll have a lot of confidence on board as a result of their recent good form and with the team looking more together than they were in the first half of the season, they'll believe that they can finish in that top four.
