Is Rodrigo Muniz Fulham's Mitrovic replacement?
Fulham has solely missed former talisman Aleksandar Mitrovic this season as they have lacked that clinical no.9 up top. They might've found that player in Rodrigo Muniz who has scored 3 goals in his last two games, 2 of them were against Bournemouth on Saturday. Is he their replacement for Mitrovic?
It took time for Muniz to get his chance at Fulham after spending last season on loan at Middlesbrough and picking up a knee injury earlier this season. Raul Jimenez's injury has given him the opportunity he has waited for and he has taken it with both hands.
His recent form will definitely give him a lot of confidence and he'll be eager to keep it up now he's finally getting the chance to start as a central striker. If he can keep up the form he's in over the next few games, he could be the Cottagers' new Mitrovic.
Hojlund finally delivering for Man United
It's taken Rasmus Hojlund time to find his feet in the Premier League after a slow start following his arrival from Atalanta in the summer. It was always going to take time with him as he's a young player who will need time to develop and is also adjusting to a new league in a different country. Now he's finally delivering after scoring 5 goals in his last 5 games which has given him a lot of confidence.
He's always got himself into goal scoring positions and even when the goals weren't coming for him which shows how determined he is. He deserves praise for never shying away during that difficult spell and his hard work has paid off now his luck in front of goal has changed.
United have looked more like a team since the goals started to flow for him and his teammates understand him better as a result of it. Hojlund adjusting to the Premier League could be a reason why United were struggling for consistency earlier in the season as the players didn't know how he liked to play and what kind of striker he was. Since the goals started to flow for him, the players around him are performing better and is forging decent partnerships with them. Something he wasn't doing earlier in the season.
Is the pressure beginning to get to Aston Villa?
Two wins from their last five games have seen Aston Villa drop out of the top four after being in there for a long period. Over the course of those five games they saw their home fortress begin to collapse with the two games they lost during that period both being at home. So is the pressure beginning to get to Aston Villa?
I knew the pressure would get to Villa at some point but not this early. I thought it might've got to them later in the season when their Europa Conference League campaign resumes and when the fixtures begin to pile up. That's the stage when the clubs begin to feel the pressure when they're not used to being in a title race or top four race.
Villa are still in a good position to finish in the top four as they're only a point behind Spurs in 4th. But their recent dip in form could be a sign that the pressure of being in the top four race is beginning to get to them. The next few games could tells us if it is.
