GK: JORDAN PICKFORD (EVERTON) - Everton didn't concede a single goal during January and Pickford was one of the reasons why. He made a number of important saves to keep his side in games including that brilliant one against Fulham.
RB: CONOR BRADLEY (LIVERPOOL) - Bradley had to step up in the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold and he did so brilliantly. Defensively he was solid whilst offensively as was effective as he registered 1 goal and 3 assists. He could potentially be the reds' first choice right back.
CB: IBRAHIMA KONATE (LIVERPOOL) - Konate stepped up as an important player for Liverpool during January by putting in some excellent defensive performances. He has a solid partnership with Van Dijk and is now one of the first names on the team sheet.
CB: JARRAD BRANTHWAITE (EVERTON) - Branthwaite has been an important player for Everton under Sean Dyche this season and he showed why during January. He was solid at the back throughout January as Everton went the entire month without conceding a goal.
LB: JOE GOMEZ (LIVERPOOL) - Gomez had to fill in at left back with both Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas out injured and he did so brilliantly. Defensively he was sound whilst going forward he offered a threat. He even had a few strikes at goal himself.
CDM: ROSS BARKLEY (LUTON) - Barkley has been a player revitalised at Luton and he kept up his fine form in January. His performances in midfield were crucial to Luton climbing out the relegation zone and he is looking very much at home in the no.6 role.
CM: KEVIN DE BRUYNE (MAN CITY) - City found some form during January and the return of De Bruyne was instrumental in it. He registered 1 goal and 2 assists during January as he showed what City were missing during his absence. With their maestro back in the team, City will look to go on one those runs they usually go on in the second half of the season.
CM: ALEXIS MAC ALLISTER (LIVERPOOL) - After a slow start, Mac Allister is finally feeling at home in a Liverpool shirt and his performances during January can back that up. He controlled the tempo of the game in the midfield with his vision and passing ability and his performance in there played a key role in the reds keeping up their title challenge.
RW: DIOGO JOTA (LIVERPOOL) - Liverpool needed someone to step up on the goals front with Salah being away at AFCON and Jota did exactly that. He registered 3 goals and 2 assists during January as the reds increased their advantage at the top of the league and is someone who deserves to play more than he usually does.
LW: RICHARLISON (TOTTENHAM) - Richarlison had to step up in the absence of Heung Min Son and he did so by scoring 2 goals in January. He's been an important player for Spurs over the last couple of months with the form he's been in and is showing why the club spent all that money on him.
ST: DARWIN NUNEZ (LIVERPOOL) - I was reluctant to put Nunez in this team because of how frustrating he can be. But in the end I went through with it as he did make some crucial contributions for the reds during January. He scored and assisted twice during January as Liverpool kept up their title challenge and despite all the chances he misses, he still helps his team out by creating chances for his teammates.
