Harry Kane finally joined Bayern Munich today competing a £95 million move from Tottenham after 14 years at the club.
It's been a saga that has dragged on for most of the summer and it has finally been competed with both parties agreeing a fee a few days ago.
With Kane now a Bayern Munich player, are Bayern now Champions League contenders.
Bayern lacked a clinical no.9 last season following the departure of Robert Lewandowski. They might've won an 11th straight Bundesliga title but there were still games where they missed that focal point in attack. They created a lot of chances but didn't have that no.9 to finish them off.
Kane has firmly established himself as one of the best strikers in the world over the last 6 to 7 years and is exactly what Bayern needed as he's a proven goal scorer and someone that can lead the line well. He also likes to drop deep and create chances which has been a part of his game for the last few years. Bayern have players who like to run in behind in Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman and Kane could form a strong partnership with both of them like he did with Son Heung Min at Spurs.
He'll definitely get a lot of chances to score goals as he'll have one of the most creative young players in Jamal Musiala playing behind him. Every striker needs service in order to score goals and he'll definitely get plenty at Bayern with Musiala and sometimes Thomas Muller playing behind him.
In terms of Bayern going far in the Champions League, having someone like Kane up top gives them a very good chance. They haven't gone beyond the Quarter Finals since winning the competition in 2020 and with a manager who has won it before in Thomas Tuchel and a top class striker in Kane leading their attack, they could be among the favourites to win the competition.
