FA Cup: Semi Final Draw Verdict

The draw for the FA Cup Semi Finals was made yesterday with two interesting ties to look forward to.

Leicester who shocked Man United 3-1 their Quarter final clash yesterday have a great opportunity to reach final this year as they will be taking on Southampton who knocked out Championship Bournemouth 3-0 in the one of the other Quarter finals. Leicester who are flying high in the Premier League would love to reach the FA Cup final and potentially win it because they've never won the competition and this is a great opportunity for them to do exactly that. Southampton have been on a good run in the cup this season it could be their only hope of saving their collapsing season. They haven't reached the final of this competition since 2003 where they were beaten by Arsenal and they would love to reach it again by causing a shock in this one.

The tie of the round is without a doubt Chelsea taking on Man City. Chelsea have a good recent record in the FA Cup and will want to keep it up by winning this big clash against City before going on to potentially win it for the sixth time in 15 seasons. After losing the final last season, the players will want to go one better this year by winning it. They may have a different manager in charge, but the players will still be hungry to win the competition because of losing in the final last season. Man City are competing on all four fronts this season and are arguably the favourites for this competition as well this big clash. They have the strongest squad out of all the sides left and have a manager in Pep Guardiola who is a serial winner. With both sides being in good form in the league, it should be a very close and interesting tie.
