FA Cup: 3rd Round draw Verdict

The draw for the FA Cup 3rd Round was made earlier this evening with some fairly interesting ties to be played.

Marine from the eighth tier of English football will be taking on Premier League Tottenham at home which could be the biggest shock in FA Cup history if Marine were to beat the current Premier League leaders. That will be a game their fans will be looking forward to when they're allowed back in stadiums. Another non-league side in Stockport are also taking on Premier League opposition as they will be at home against West Ham. That could be a massive shock if Stockport were to pull it off. Chorley from the National League North are another non league club who have a chance of causing a major upset as they take on Championship strugglers Derby at home. They knocked out 2013 winners Wigan in Round 1 so could they do it again? We'll wait and see.

League 2 Morecambe have a tie to look forward to as they'll be taking on Premier League Chelsea whilst Newport who've caused shocks in this competition in the past have a chance to pull off another one as they'll be taking on Premier League Brighton. Manager Micky Flynn will fancy an upset in this one after a recent success knocking out teams like Leeds and Leicester in recent seasons.

2006 winners Liverpool will be looking for revenge on Aston Villa as the pair will be up against each other at Villa Park for the first time since Villa's 7-2 drubbing of the reds back in October. Other all Premier clashes include Wolves taking on Crystal Palace and holders Arsenal taking on Newcastle who haven't won this competition since 1955.
