Champions League Quarter Final Draw Verdict

The draw for the Champions League Quarter Finals was made earlier today with four interesting ties to look forward to next month.

Out of the English clubs Chelsea have by far the toughest tie as they'll be taking on current holders Real Madrid. The two sides met at the Quarter Final stage last season with Real going on to win it. Carlo Ancelotti's side will again be one of the favourites to win the competition this season because of the history they have with the competition and the fact that they're the defending European champions. This tie will see Antonio Rudiger return to Stamford Bridge for the first time since he left Chelsea in the summer for the Bernabeu.

The tie of the round is arguably Man City taking on Bayern Munich as both sides will be among the favourites to win the competition itself with the quality of players they both have. City will probably be the favourites as they arguably have a stronger squad and have fared better in this competition in recent seasons. This tie will also see City boss Pep Guardiola return to Bayern for the first time since he left them in 2016 and Bayern winger Leroy Sane return to City for the first time since he left them in 2020.

We have an all Serie A tie to look forward to with AC Milan taking on Napoli. Napoli have been listed as one of the favourites to win the competition by a number of people because of how well they've done this season both domestically and in Europe. They'll probably be favourites to win this tie because of that and the way they've been playing for much of the season.

The other Quarter Final tie sees Inter Milan taking on Benfica. Inter will probably be the favourites as they have players of a higher calibre but Benfica will still fancy themselves after beating Juventus in the group stages where they finished top of their group.
