Can Newcastle snap up Joe Willock on a permanent transfer?
Joe Willock netted for the seventh straight game in Newcastle's 2-0 win over Fulham on Sunday which equalled Alan Shearer's record in a Newcastle shirt. He's netted 8 times since joining the club on loan from Arsenal in January and has added energy and a threat from midfield which Newcastle didn't have before he arrived. Because of how good he's been during his loan spell: Can Newcastle snap him up on a permanent transfer?
The Magpies have played more on the front foot in their final few games than they did throughout the season and Joe Willock was a big part of that because of what he brought to the team in terms of energy and goals. They didn't have this kind of player before he arrived as they were dull and boring to watch for most of the season which lead them to being sucked into a relegation battle. They looked in deep trouble around the time Willock arrived but his introduction along with the returns of Saint Maximin and Wilson from injury were key in Newcastle's strong end to the season. His form will definitely convince Newcastle to sign him up but at the same time Arsenal will not want to let him go because Mikel Arteta may want to use him more next season.
Was that Harry Kane's final game in a Spurs shirt?
Harry Kane's future at Spurs has been one of the main talking points for the last few weeks and possibly the last month as Spurs failed to qualify for the Champions League and once again missed out on some silverware. Because of those reasons and the speculation around his future at the club: Was this Harry Kane's final game for Spurs?
He may still have three years left on his current contract but Spurs' progress since then has stalled with the club not winning any silverware and out of the Champions League for two straight seasons. With Kane turning 28 in July he's now at the stage of his career where he needs to be winning things and he's not going to get that at Spurs because of how poor they've been over the last season or two. As he's yet to win something now may be the best time to move to a bigger club because he's more likely to win trophies if he does and he is a player who wants and needs to win trophies. The way he waved to the fans against Aston Villa in midweek and embraced his teammates against Leicester made it look like his last game in a Spurs shirt and it definitely feels like that with all the speculation surrounding his future.
How tough a job does the new manager of Wolves have in replacing Nuno?
Nuno Espirito Santo managed Wolves for the final time at the weekend in their 2-1 loss to Man United at Molineux. After four successful years at the helm where they had plenty of success under the Portuguese manager: How tough a job does the new manager have in replacing him?
Nuno took Wolves from being a mid-table Championship side to a well established Premier League side within four years which is some achievement. He lead them to back to back 7th place finishes after getting them promoted which is never easy for a newly promoted side and he even lead them to the Quarter finals of the Europa League in his second season which is another great achievement. This season may not have worked out but whoever comes in will still have a big task on their hands because of the legacy Nuno left. It's usually tough for a new manager when replacing an icon of the club as they have their own way of playing which can take time for the players to get used to. The new manager must be aware of this as his players may not be used to his style of play and it will be his job to hit the ground running as soon as possible which won't be easy.
Is the top six no more?
Only four of the classified big six finished in the top six this season in Man City, Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea who all finished in the top four. With Arsenal finishing in 8th for the second straight season and Spurs finishing this season in 7th: Is the top six no more?
The classified big six have been reasonably consistent over the last 10 or so seasons apart from the 2015/16 season where Leicester won the league with Chelsea and Liverpool finishing outside the top six in 10th and 8th. But that title appears to be expiring with Leicester finishing in 5th and Arsenal finishing in 8th for the last two seasons which has begun the break up of the big six. Spurs could end up like their North London rivals next season as they face losing Harry Kane in the summer who will be tough to replace due to the service he's given them over the years. Everton like Leicester have a long term plan and could be up there next season if they can bring in a few more players along with improving their home form because of the manager they have in Carlo Ancelotti. As Arsenal may take a while to get back to where they want to be and Spurs potenitally losing their place in the long term, the big six may no longer exist with Leicester gate crashing it and Everton and West Ham potentially making the step up.
Will Declan Rice be a key player for England this summer?
Declan Rice has had on outstanding season for West Ham this year and is a shoe in to make Gareth Southgate's England squad for the Euros. He's improved a lot as a player by playing passes through the lines and making the odd forward run along with being a solid base alongside Tomas Soucek in the Hammers' midfield. After capping his find season off with a good performance against Southampton: Will Declan Rice be a key player for England this summer?
He'll surely start in the defensive midfield position because of the season he's had and his recent performances for his country in that position. Particularly during the World Cup qualifiers in March. Against Southampton Rice made runs forward, vital interventions and played passes through the lines which is the kind of player England have lacked for quite a few years. The likes of Spain and Germany have had that in the past and it was one of the reasons why they were successful in major tournaments. In Rice England might have finally found a player who can be that player based on his performances for West Ham this season. If he can bring those performances with him onto the international stage he could be an important player for England during the Euros.
