Has Chelsea's attack finally clicked?
Chelsea spent a lot of money on attacking players during the summer and after their brilliant performance in the 3-0 win at Burnley on Saturday, has Frank Lampard finally found a system to get them all clicking together? Hakim Ziyech impressed on his first Premier League start with a goal and an assist and was probably the best player on the pitch. Kai Havertz and Timo Werner also impressed with Havertz playing a vital role in the lead up to the goals and Werner scoring the third as well as looking a threat throughout. It's taken time for all of them to settle in and now it appears that Frank Lampard has found a system for them all to flourish with Kai Havertz playing as an 8 alongside Mason Mount in a 4-3-3 formation. That with N'Golo Kante playing as the defensive midfielder gives the attacking players the freedom to express themselves and if Lampard sticks with that system, Chelsea could be some team this season.
Have Arsenal finally replaced Patrick Vieira?
Arsenal haven't had a tough tackling and powerful midfielder since Patrick Vieira left them in 2004. But with new signing Thomas Partey, have they finally found the midfielder they've been after for years? Partey won the ball back more times than any other player during Arsenal's 1-0 win at Man United which shows the kind of player he is and what Arsenal have been lacking for several years. Partey has impressed whenever he's been given the opportunity and is giving Arsenal's midfield the solidity it hasn't had for a long time since the likes of Vieira and Petit were there. Mikel Arteta is improving this Arsenal team by the way he sets them up and the players he is bringing in. If Partey can play he has done on a consistent basis, we'll see if he is Arsenal's new Vieira.
Does Ole Gunnar Solskjaer know what his best team and system is?
Man United's tough start to their Premier League season continued as they lost 1-0 at home to Arsenal in a dull display. They used a diamond formation after its success against RB Leipzig in the Champions League and it failed leading to a drag display which got me questioning whether Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows his best team and system. He used a 4-2-3-1 towards the end of last season which worked as they played some good football using that system which they also used in the 4-1 win at Newcastle two weekends ago. He's changed the midfield a lot this season by chopping and changing between Matic, Pogba, Fred, McTominay and Van De Beek which creates an imbalance in the midfield because of the amount of times he's changing it. If United are to get on a run of results, Ole needs to find a system to get the best out of his players and use the right players to fit the system he's willing to use.
Is James Ward Prowse in contention for a place in the England squad for the Euro's?
After a brilliant display against Aston Villa on Sunday, is Southampton's James Ward Prowse in contention for a place in the England squad for this summers Euro's? The Saints Captain scored two very good free kicks against Villa and put in a good performance on the pitch to go with the brilliant free kicks as Southampton won the game 4-3. He's grown into a key player for Southampton over the last few seasons because of his delivery from set pieces and his work rate which has made him one of the most underrated players in the Premier League. He's been called up for England in the last two international breaks and could be again after the form he's been in of late for his club. England have a lot of midfielders in their ranks in the likes of Henderson, Foden, Maddison, Mount etc. If Ward Prowse can add more goals and assists between now and the end of the season, he could be in the squad for the Euro's this summer.
Has Jamie Vardy got better with age?
Jamie Vardy is 33 years old and is still playing like he's 25-28. After a complete strikers performance against Leeds on Monday night, has he improved as he's got older? The Leicester striker has always scored goals since he's been in the Premier League but since Brendan Rodgers has been at the foxes, Vardy appears to be a better player by providing chances for his teammates as well as scoring goals for himself which is what he's done since last season. He's making his bursting runs only when he's in the final third of the pitch because his pace is his main strength and it's a key part to the way that Leicester play because the team is built around Jamie Vardy and the pace he has. He'll be turning 34 later this season and if continues the way he is, he could play into his late 30s because of the he's been playing in the last season.
