Can Fulham pick themselves up after another missed opportunity?
Fulham missed yet another big opportunity to boost their chances of staying up by losing 1-0 to Wolves a week after losing 3-1 to Aston Villa. With a tough run of games coming up for the Cottagers from now until the end of the season; Can they pick themselves up after two crushing defeats?
Having been 1-0 up against Villa the week before going into the final minutes, the Cottagers then lost confidence in themselves after Villa scored the equaliser as they conceded two more goals to lose the game 3-1. They had a lot of chances against Wolves on Friday, but they didn't take them and they'll be kicking themselves for that because Wolves scored an injury time winner through Adama Traore which would've hurt Fulham massively because of the amount of chances they had. With Arsenal and Chelsea in their next two games, the Cottagers may find it difficult to pick themselves up going into their final few games. Especially after losing their last two games in the way they did.
Are Leicester blowing it again?
Leicester were certain to finish in the top four a few weeks ago as they had a nice cushion between themselves and the teams behind them. They're now right in a battle to finish in those positions as they're now just two points clear of 5th placed Chelsea following their 3-2 defeat to West Ham. Having blown their chances last season; Are they blowing it again?
The Foxes were in the same position as they were at this stage last season in 3rd and they ended up blowing it with just 2 wins in their final 10 games following project restart. Having lost to Man City the week before, Leicester may be facing a repeat of what happened last season. They had a few key players out injured at that stage in Ricardo Pereira, Ben Chilwell and James Maddison which was one of the reasons why they surrendered their place. The same appears to be happening again with Harvey Barnes and Caglar Soyuncu both currently out injured. They'll want both them back soon if they're to finish in that top four because they will not want a repeat of what happened to them last season. With West Ham, Chelsea and Liverpool not far behind them and gaining form, the foxes could well be blowing it again unless they can react to that.
Is Jesse Lingard pushing for a starting place in the England team ?
Jesse Lingard has been in fine form since joining West Ham on loan from Man United in January and he has definitely put his career back on track with 8 goals in 9 games since joining the Hammers. Having earned his recall to the England squad last month following a good start at West Ham; Is Lingard pushing for a place in the starting line up for the Euros in the summer?
Nobody saw Lingard getting anywhere the England squad never mind the starting line up at the start of the season because of the lack of game time he was getting at Man United. His form since joining West Ham has
definitely put him in the frame for a starting berth because he's one of the most in form English players in the Premier League at this moment in time. With Jadon Sancho currently out injured and not having his ideal season at Borussia Dortmund, Lingard is definitely certain to make the final 23 because he's in better form and Gareth Southgate picks players if they're in good form for their clubs as well as playing regularly. If he can carry on the form he's in, he could well be starting in that England team. But it won't be easy as he'll be fighting it out with Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish.
Are Spurs out of the top four race for good?
Spurs' hope of Champions League football next season took another blow as they were beaten 3-1 by Man United on Sunday. With Spurs six points outside the top four and not producing consistent performances on the pitch; Are they out of the top four race for good?
Spurs could still be in contention next weekend where they face Everton whilst Chelsea and Leicester are in FA Cup action. But Liverpool and West Ham are also playing next weekend and they're both involved in that top four race along with Spurs. Spurs will have to win against Everton if they're to have any chance of finishing in that top four and they'll hope that both Liverpool and West Ham drop points so they can put themselves right back in the race. If that's not the case whatever result Spurs get next week, they could find themselves out of the running for a top four finish.
Are Arsenal better without Aubameyang?
Arsenal beat Sheffield United 3-0 on Sunday without captain and arguably star player Pierre Emerick Aubameyang. Alexandre Lacazette scored twice for the Gunners in that one and has scored five goals alone whenever Aubameyang hasn't played including games against Chelsea and Spurs. So are Arsenal better without Aubameyang?
In terms of this seasons performances, I think Arsenal have played better without Aubameyang on the pitch because Aubameyang hasn't been his usual self in terms of scoring goals and causing defenders problems with his pace. Lacazette on the other hand has scored in almost every game that Aubameyang has missed this season when leading the Arsenal attack and has done better in that position than the Gabon striker by scoring 13 goals which is more than any other Arsenal player in the league this season. If Lacazette continues to impress up top and if Aubameyang fails to stamp down a place in the team, the Gunners might well be better without their Gabonese superstar.
