5 Questions after Matchweek 29

How will Leeds cope without Patrick Bamford?

Patrick Bamford picked up his first injury of the season during Leeds' 0-0 draw with Chelsea on Saturday as he landed awkwardly following a tussle with Antonio Rudiger. With 13 goals to his name so far this season; How will Leeds cope without their top goal scorer if he is for longer than expected? Bamford has played every game for Marcelo Bielsa's side this season and has proven many people wrong by scoring the amount of goals he has scored this season. A lot of people at the start of the season doubted whether he could do it in the Premier League and he has gone on to prove them wrong by scoring 13 goals in 28 league games which is pretty good for a player from a newly promoted team. But with him now injured, Leeds may struggle for goals as the other strikers at the club are yet to step up. Rodrigo has not had enough opportunities through the middle with most of his appearances being out wide and Tyler Roberts isn't a proven goal scorer. Leeds have had a good season first season back in the top flight. But it could end poorly for them depending on how long Bamford is out for because of how important he's been for them this season.

Are Brighton favourites going into their clash against Newcastle next weekend?

Brighton picked up a massive win in their quest to stay in the Premier League by beating Southampton 2-1 to three points above the relegation zone. With Newcastle failing to beat Aston Villa on Friday along with their current form; Are Brighton favourites going into their crucial clash with Newcastle next weekend? Brighton had to win against Southampton on Sunday because they needed some confidence to take into the Newcastle game which they'll need to win as it is an important game for them. With Newcastle not in great form and without two of their best players for the game next weekend, that could give Brighton another edge because the Seagulls will hopefully have most of their key players available to them unlike Newcastle which usually gives a team an advantage. Especially when their opponents are missing their best players. With the confidence gained from their win over Southampton and most of their key players available to them, Brighton could be the favourites in the relegation six pointer next weekend.

Could Kelechi Iheanacho replace Jamie Vardy?

Kelechi Iheanacho has been given a good run of games recently and has taken every opportunity given to him with 5 goals in his last 3 games including a hat trick against Sheffield United on Sunday. With Jamie Vardy now 34 years of age and coming towards the end of his career; Could the Nigerian replace Vardy in the long term? Iheanacho hasn't always taken his opportunity during his time at Leicester whether that is alongside Vardy or stepping in place of Vardy. Well he's definitely taken his opportunity in recent weeks and he had to with Harvey Barnes and James Maddison out injured. He's had to be patient as he's been behind Jamie Vardy in the pecking order and that patience has paid off as he's been scoring goals and playing well for his team. If he can continue to take his opportunities and score goals, we could well be the long term replacement for Jamie Vardy.

Should Chris Wilder have stayed at Sheffield United?

A lot of people were surprised to see Chris Wilder leave boyhood club Sheffield United this week with less than 10 games of the season still to play. With the Blades heading towards relegation, many people thought that Wilder would be the best man to take Sheffield United back up next season because he got them into the Premier League in the first place. This got me asking if Chris Wilder should've stayed at Sheffield United. Chris Wilder has become a Sheffield United legend during his time at the club by taking them from the middle of League 1 to the Premier League. He lead the club to two promotions in three seasons with promotion from League 1 coming in the 2016/17 season and promotion from the Championship coming in the 2018/19 season. Because of this he could've been the best man to take them back up because of the journey he's on at the football club. He's adored by the fans and he's still in charge because of the job he's done since he's been at Bramall Lane. Sheffield United's end to this season and start to next season could tells us whether Wilder should've stayed at the club.

Will Luke Shaw be England's first choice left back at the Euros?

Luke Shaw has arguably been the best left back this season and put in another top display in Man United's win over West Ham on Sunday. With the season he is having; Will he be England's first choice left back at the Euros this summer? Shaw has put himself back in contention for a place in the squad over the last few months by putting in good performances on a consistent basis for his club where he's been good both defensively and going forward. With current first choice left back Ben Chilwell not getting a regular run of games at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel, Shaw could well replace him because he's playing regularly and playing well which is what Gareth Southgate wants whenever he picks players to be in his England squads. Shaw will hopefully be in Southagte's next squad which will be announced later this week and if the left back can continue to play well between now and the end of the season, he could be England's first choice left back for the Euros.
