The new Premier League season kicks off this weekend and there will be a number of players looking to prove a point.
Let's see which 10 players I think will have a big season ahead of them.
CODY GAKPO - LIVERPOOL
Gakpo has been inconsistent for the majority of the time he's been at Liverpool and one reason for that could be because he hasn't been used in his best position. He impressed off the left for Holland at the Euros as he won a share of the golden boot with 3 goals as the Dutch reached the semi finals. With new reds boss Arne Slot being Dutch like Gakpo, he'll hopefully know how to get the best out of him.
MARCUS RASHFORD - MAN UNITED
Rashford had a disappointing season where he scored just 8 times in all competitions after netting 30 the season before. His poor form lead to him being left out of the England squad for the Euros, and after having a full summer to have a good look at himself and a full pre season to get himself fit, he'll be determined to recapture the form he showed two seasons ago so he can force his way back into the England squad. Especially with former United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy being part of Erik Ten Hag's coaching staff.
ADAM ARMSTRONG - SOUTHAMPTON
Armstrong has more than proved himself in the Championship as his 24 goals last season showed everyone. But he is yet to prove himself in the Premier League after netting just 4 times during Southampton's last spell in the top flight. If the Saints are to stay up this season, they'll need Armstrong to carry the form he showed last season into this season.
MARC CUCURELLA - CHELSEA
Cucurella has had his fair share of critics since joining Chelsea two years ago, but he did go on and silence them at the Euros where he put in a number of solid performances as Spain went all the way. With that winners medal round his neck, he'll be determined to carry those performances into this season and show the Chelsea fans why the club spent all that money on him.
JAMES MADDISON - TOTTENHAM
Maddison was looking one of the signings of the season when he arrived from Leicester last summer up until he picked up that injury in November. He was never the same player after that injury and his poor form cost him a place in the England squad for the Euros. After having a full summer to refresh and a full pre-season to get himself fully fit, he'll be looking to rediscover the form he showed in the early part of last season in an attempt to win back his England place.
JACK GREALISH - MAN CITY
Grealish had a disappointing season last season and his poor form lead to him being left out of the England squad for the Euros. He's been on fire during pre-season and he'll be determined to carry form into this season in an attempt to win back his place in the England and finally show why he's worth the amount of money City paid to get him.
CHRISTOPHER NKUNKU - CHELSEA
Nkunku had an injury-hit debut season at Stamford Bridge last season where he scored just 3 goals in 11 games. After having a full pre-season under his belt to get himself match fit, he'll be looking to show the Chelsea fans what they were missing last season and why the club signed him.
NICLAS FULLKRUG - WEST HAM
Fullkrug netted 15 times in all competitions last season and was a useful impact player for Germany at the Euros when he came off the bench. West Ham have lacked a clinical no.9 up top for the last couple of seasons and if Fullkrug can get the service he requires to score goals, he could bag a handful of them this season.
HARVEY ELLIOTT - LIVERPOOL
Elliott impressed in a number cameo appearances last season with most of them coming off the bench. He'll be looking to nail down a regular starting role under new reds boss Arne Slot and if he can do that and put in good performances on a consistent basis, he could put himself into contention for an England call-up.
GABRIEL JESUS - ARSENAL
Jesus was disappointing for Arsenal last season as he scored just 4 league goals in an injury-hit campaign. He's been in good form during pre-season and he'll want to carry that form into the new campaign so he can win back his place in the team. He might not be an out and out goal scorer, but with the form he's been in during pre-season, he could give Arsenal that little bit extra as they look to end their wait for a Premier League title.
