The new Premier League season kicks off in less than month and all 20 clubs have got their pre-season preparations up and running. With all clubs being busy in the transfer market and the season itself kicking off next month; What does each club need ahead of the new season?
ARSENAL - Central Midfielder
With the Gunners back in Europe this season they're going to need a big squad to compete on both fronts and the central midfield position is an area where they'll need plenty of options. They do have options there in Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka, Mohamed Elneny and Samibi Lokonga. But with injuries likely to be picked up, they're going to need more options in this position in order to cope with the Thursday-Sunday schedule.
ASTON VILLA - Right Winger
Villa lacked a regular and consistent right winger last season with Leon Bailey struggling to find his best form after his arrival last summer. They look strong in the other attacking areas but if they're to seriously challenge for a place in Europe next season, they need a consistent performer to play on the right hand side.
BOURNEMOUTH - Attacking Midfielder
Dominic Solanke is the Cherries' only out and out goal threat and their midfield doesn't have a lot of goals in them. If they're to stay up this season they're going to need to spread the goals around the team and for them to do that they're going to need an attacking midfielder who can score goals as well as create.
BRENTFORD - Creative Midfielder
With Christian Eriksen no longer at the club and unlikely to return, the Bees are going to need a like for like replacement if they're to have the same kind of season they had last year. The Dane made a massive difference for the Bees last season as he gave them the creativity they were lacking and buying a replcement for him this summer will give the Bees the best chance of avoiding the second season syndrome.
BRIGHTON - Striker
For the last couple of seasons Brighton have been a team who have been good to watch but haven't had a centre forward who can score goals on a regular basis. If they're to become an established top 10 team like they want to be, they're going to need a centre forward who can put the ball in the net on a consistent basis.
CHELSEA - Centre Back
The departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen have left the blues short on options in that area as well as it leaving a big hole in their defence. Trevoh Chalobah, Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr are the only central defenders in their squad and with Silva turning 38 in September, they're going to need someone who can play week in week out at a higher level.
CRYSTAL PALACE - Striker
Palace were a good team to watch last season under Patrick Vieira but didn't have a centre forward who could regularly score goals. The Eagles have lacked a goal scoring centre centre forward for more than a few years now and if they're progress up the table, they need that final piece of the jigsaw.
EVERTON - Forward
The Toffees need to buy a replacement for Richarlison who left for Spurs a few weeks ago leaving Dominic Calvert Lewin as their only out and out goal threat. If they're to stay out of another relegation dogfight, they're going to need to sign someone to help out Calvert Lewin alongside being back up for him in case he gets injured.
FULHAM - Centre Back
Having a solid backline is crucial to any newly promoted team staying up and it's the main area where Fulham can strengthen. Tim Ream is getting on a bit at 34 years of age and with none of their defenders being Premier League quality, having someone with that sort of experience will help them massively.
LEEDS - Centre Back
Leeds conceded a lot of goals last season and it's been their Achilles heal ever since they got promoted. If they're to stay out of another relegation battle this season and become more established at this level, they need to tighter at the back and not as gung ho as they have been in recent seasons.
LEICESTER - Centre Back
The Foxes were poor defensively for much of last season and especially from set pieces with Jonny Evans' absence being one of the main reasons for it. With Evans not getting any younger at the age of 34, buying a long term replacement for him would probably be the best way forward for them.
LIVERPOOL - N/A
Liverpool's transfer business is pretty much done and dusted as they've signed all the players they've needed to. Darwin Nunez has come in as Sadio Mane's replacement whilst Calvin Ramsey has arrived as back up for Trent Alexander Arnold. Their squad appears to be at full strength going into the new season.
MAN CITY - Winger
City look short on options in wide areas with Raheem Sterling's potential move to Chelsea likely to leave Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish as their only recognised wide men. Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden can both play out there, but with those two likely to play in midfield at times during the season, Pep should still look to buy someone to cover for both Mahrez and Grealish.
MAN UNITED - Striker
Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave and is the only out and out striker they currently have. With new boss Erik Ten Hag playing a more pressing style of play, he'll want to bring in someone who will fit his system as a back up for Ronaldo if he stays or as a replacement for him if he goes which looks likely.
NEWCASTLE - Winger
The Magpies could do with another winger as back up for Ryan Fraser and Allan Saint Maximin with Jacob Murphy being their only cover in that position. They enough in other positions to push for a top 10 finish but if either Saint Maximin or Fraser get injured, they'll need someone to cover for them.
NOTTINGHAM FOREST - Winger
Philip Zinkernagel who was a key player during their promotion campaign last season has left the club for Olympiacos and Steve Cooper will definitely be looking to find a replacement for him. They have made some decent signings ahead of their Premier League return but for them to stay up they need to bring in a replacement for Zinkernagel.
SOUTHAMPTON - Striker
The Saints lacked a goal scoring centre forward last season following the departure of Danny Ings with none of their strikers reaching double figures for goals. If they're to avoid a potential relegation battle this season, they're going to need a 10-15 goal a season striker to keep them a good distance away.
TOTTENHAM - Striker
Spurs need a like for like back up for Harry Kane with their talisman likely to be used for pretty much every league game. They have signed Richarlison who can fill there as well as Heung Min Son but Conte would rather have a recognised striker to back up Kane instead of a winger acting as a makeshift striker.
WEST HAM - Striker
Michail Antonio is the only recognised striker that the Hammers have and he occasionally picks up the odd injury every now and then. Because of that and the Hammers being in Europe again, they'll need some depth in this position if they're to compete on both fronts like they did for most of last season.
WOLVES - Striker
Goals were a big problem for Wolves last season as they missed a lot of big chances over the course of the season. Raul Jimenez hasn't been the same player since his return from that horrific injury and as Wolves have relied a lot on him over the last few seasons, buying someone to help him out and potentially replace him could be answer to their problems.
