Was the Derby defeat the final straw for Ole?
The pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer mounted following United's derby day defeat to City where United were once again poor. They were outplayed and outfought by a very good City side who were just better in every department. They moved the ball quicker and when they lost it they had the desire to win it back. United's performance was the complete opposite and it also showed why they won't be challenging for the title.
Solskjaer has to take some of the blame for the performance as he's the one who sends the team out onto the pitch to perform his tactics. The players will of course take responsibility for their own performances but in the end the buck will always stop with the manager because he's in charge of the team. Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy said on Match of the Day on Saturday that United must change the manager if they're to compete with the best teams and he's absolutely right because Solskjaer is not a big name manager. Given that he had three games to save his job and only one of those games ended in a win, it wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't in charge for United's next game.
Did Farke deserve another chance after leading Norwich to first win before being sacked?
Despite leading Norwich to their first win of the season at Brentford on Saturday, Daniel Farke was sacked hours after the game. It was a surprise decision at the time because Norwich just claimed their first win of the season but at the same time I could see why it was done. The Canaries haven't been good enough all season and because of that the board probably had the decision in mind. Whatever the result was.
But after claiming their first win of the season, you might've thought that he may get another chance as that result could be turning point in their season as well as a confidence booster. Yes Norwich have been dreadful all season, but Farke still could've had a chance to turn things round after claiming that all important first win. The club gave him a chance to get them back up which he took and they could've done the same here after finally getting their first win of the season. But we'll never know if that was going to be case as he's been sacked.
Who will replace Dean Smith at Aston Villa?
One of the most surprising decisions of the weekend was without a doubt Dean Smith being sacked by Aston Villa. I could see why they did it as Villa are on a five game losing streak and two points outside the relegation zone as a result of it but at the same time I felt they could've given him more time as they brought in a lot of players who will of course need time to settle in. With Smith now gone, a lot of people will now be wondering who will replace him at the helm.
I can't think of anyone who would take the job at the moment as there not many managers capable of managing in the Premier League out of work. Steven Gerrard has been mentioned and could be a good fit, but would he want to leave Rangers when they are top of the SPL? Belgium manager Roberto Martinez has also been mentioned. But would he leave the no.1 ranked team in the world to a mid-table Premier League club? Villa have a tough decision to make over the next couple of weeks and it will be interesting to see who they go for.
Should Emile Smith Rowe have been in the England squad earlier?
Emile Smith Rowe has been in fantastic form for Arsenal recently with four goals and 2 assists in his last six games. But somehow he was left out of Gareth Southgate's England squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers last week until he was drafted in a day. He got drafted in because of some players dropping out but with the form he's been in; Should he have been included earlier?
It was always going to be tough for him to make the squad as he's behind the likes of Phil Foden, Mason Mount and Jack Grealish. But he could've easily got in over James Ward Prowse as he's in better form than the Southampton skipper. The pair may not be the same kind of midfielders, but Smith Rowe still could've got the nod over him in the first place. The good news is that he's in the squad, but many people are thinking that he should've been included earlier.
