Talking Points of the weekend

Aaron Ramsdale providing competition for Pickford

Aaron Ramsdale put in a fine display against Leicester at the weekend by making lots of vital saves including that one to deny James Maddison from the free kick. He's been a good signing for Arsenal so far and after a number of good performances between the sticks, he's definitely providing some competition for Jordan Pickford in the England team.

Pickford hasn't really had any serious competition since he's been England's no.1 but with Ramdale in good form and at a big club in Arsenal, there appears to finally be come competition in the England goalkeeping department. Pickford will of course be no.1 for the time being but if Ramsdale keeps his form up, he won't be that far behind.

Nuno wasn't the right fit for Spurs

Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked by Spurs yesterday after just 10 games with the club 8th and 10 points of the top at the time of his dismissal. It came after a terrible performance against Man United at the weekend where the fans let their frustrations out and it lead to the board making the inevitable decision.

After looking back on Spurs' performances throughout the season, I've come to the decision that he was never the right man for the job because of his style of play being defensive and the fact being that he wasn't their first or second choice. Spurs fans want to see their team playing on the front foot and attacking which they were never going to get with Nuno because of his style of play.

West Ham pushing for Europe again

I thought West Ham would struggle a bit this season because of them being in the Europa League and not having the biggest squad in the league. But I have to say they've definitely proved me wrong as they're 4th in the league and on course for another European challenge. I can definitely see them up there again this season because of the start they've made and the overall strength of their squad. They're looking strong in all areas of the field and have a good manager at the helm who deserves a lot of credit for making the team competitive on both fronts.

They're doing well both in Europe and the Premier League and if they can keep the likes of Declan Rice fit, they'll definitely be challenging for a place in Europe.
