Will Farke last the season at Norwich?
Norwich pretty much look down and out already after claiming just two points in their first nine games since their promotion back to the Premier League. They were expected to put up more of fight this time round after bouncing back up at the first attempt as winners of the Championship but so far we're yet to see that. They haven't learnt from the mistakes they made two seasons ago and because of this I'm beginning to wonder if manager Daniel Farke will last the season.
The Canaries held on to Farke following their relegation two seasons ago and he repaid that trust by getting them back up at the first attempt before being rewarded with a new contract in the summer which he later signed. But that could all soon be ripped up because of the Canaries' awful start to the season as they lie bottom of the league with very little hope of staying up. They've been very naïve in most of the games they've played this season and the manager has to take responsibility for that as he sends the team out to perform. If results don't improve between now and Christmas, I wouldn't be surprised if he lost his job.
Have Watford found a reliable goal scorer in Josh King?
My worry about Watford going into this season was who is going to get the majority of their goals. They didn't have a regular goal scoring centre forward last season but after Josh King's hat trick in their 5-2 win at Everton on Saturday; Have they found someone who will get the goals for them?
He may have only scored in one game for the Hornets so far, but that hat trick against Everton will give him plenty of confidence because scoring a hat trick can do exactly that. I had some doubts about King when he joined Watford in the summer because he didn't play a lot of football last season and would therefore need time to get himself sharpened up. He's starting to prove me wrong after scoring that hat trick against Everton and if he can carry on playing like that he could be the Hornets' go to man for goals.
Solskjaer on thin ice following Liverpool thrashing
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under more pressure than he ever has been since he's been Man United manager because of the calibre of players he signed in the summer and the current form his side are in. But now he appears to be on thin ice following Sunday's humiliating defeat to Liverpool at Old Trafford. They're 7th in the league and 8 points off the top which pretty much rules them out of the title race. Especially with Chelsea, Liverpool and City all looking strong and within a point of each other.
They were expected to be involved in that title race this season because of the quality of players they brought in which in turn raised their expectations. But recent performances and results suggest that they're miles away from that because they're not working hard enough as a team and they're also all over the place defensively which we've seen in each of their last two games. Solskjaer has to take some of the blame for this because he's the one who sets them up to play the way he wants them to. If results and performances don't improve within the next few weeks, I really can't see him in a job because of the pressure he's already under.
Liverpool are now title contenders
Liverpool haven't really been talked about as title contenders this season with Man City and Chelsea being the main teams in that conversation. But after beating rivals Man United 5-0 on Sunday and the club still unbeaten in the league, you have to say that they're now title contenders. The attack look back to their best after having a proper rest and a full pre season under their belts which they didn't have last season and the return of Virgil Van Dijk to their defence has enabled them to return to what they used to do best in pressing teams high up the pitch.
They suffered a lot last season due to their lack of a pre season which lead to them picking up a number of injuries and especially in their backline. But with players back fit and back in their usual positions, the reds are looking like the team we saw two or three seasons ago. If they can keep players fit and in form, they'll definitely be up there with City and Chelsea.
