Will Norwich find it tougher to bounce back next season?
Norwich's relegation to the Championship was confirmed on Saturday with their 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa sealing their fate as a Premier League club. They never had enough quality to compete at this level and their recruitment wasn't shrewd enough as well like it was last time. With the Championship being a tough league alongside the poor season they've had; Will they find it tougher to bounce back next season?
The Canaries have the right man in charge to them promoted in Dean Smith who got Aston Villa up in 2019 and had plenty of experience of managing in that league from his time at Brentford. But they could still struggle as the Championship is a tough league to get out of as many teams will know.
They bounced straight back last time because their team was built around the brilliance of Emi Buendia who later went on to join Aston Villa in the summer. Without him this time round they could find goals hard to come by like they did in the Premier League. They still have Teemu Pukki who is a proven goal scorer in the Championship but without a creative midfielder of Buendia's ilk behind him, he might not get as many goals as he did last time.
Will Gabriel Jesus' current form delay Erling Haaland signing?
Gabriel Jesus has been in great form recently with six goals from his last three games in all competitions. All those games are ones he started and with that kind of form it looks like he's going to keep his place in the team between and and the end of the season. The main question now will be whether his current form will delay the club signing Erling Haaland in the summer.
City's chances of getting Haaland in the summer look very likely with a deal between themselves and Borussia Dortmund almost agreed. But the day that Haaland signs the deal could happen later than most people would think because of the form Gabriel Jesus is in at the moment.
Jesus hasn't always proved himself as a clinical no.9 during his time at City but the current form he's in could persuade Pep Guardiola to play him more and give him a chance to prove himself as a no.9. This in turn could delay the Erling Haaland signing as it could force Pep to make a decision on who will be his no.9 next season. He could either sign Haaland like all fans are expecting him to or stick with Jesus because of the way he's ending the season.
Everton key players to be crucial in relegation fight
Everton gave their hopes of survival a massive boost on Sunday with their win over Chelsea where three of their most important players in Jordan Pickford, Yerry Mina and Richarlison played a key role. Pickford made some very crucial saves to keep them in the game, Mina made a huge difference to them defensively like he does whenever he plays whilst Richarlison got the all important goal. They all proved how important they're set to be in the Toffees' final few games of the season with the performances they all put in.
Yerry Mina's performance is a welcome boost because he showed that Everton are a lot stronger defensively with him in the side. He's missed a lot of games through injury this season and during his absence the Toffees have really struggled defensively. He gives them that extra bit of quality and defensive knowhow when he plays and the Toffees need to keep him fit for the rest of the season because of the difference he makes for them defensively.
Richarlison has been an important for Everton ever since he's been at the club and he's showed why in their last few games. He's scored some important goals and has lead the line well in the absence of Dominic Calvert Lewin. The Toffees do have their no.9 to come back in but if Richarlison carries on scoring goals and aplyign well the Toffees have a great chance of beating the drop.
Pickford will certainly need to have one or two of the kind of games he had against Chelsea between now and the end of the season because there will be games where he'll need to be on top. He's kept the Toffees in games quite a few times this season by making some crucial saves and if it wasn't for him they might be in a worse position. He has been criticized at times during his spell at Everton but when the Toffees need someone to bail them out of trouble, Pickford has showed himself to be more than capable of doing so. Like he did against Chelsea.
