Brentford are in the relegation battle
3 points above the drop zone and without a win in 9 league games. Based on this you have to say that Brentford are now in the relegation mix. The teams below them have picked up points when they haven't and after a solid first half to the season where they were looking like a good Premier League side, Premier League reality has really got to them in recent weeks.
They have had injuries to key players during their winless run with Ivan Toney being their biggest loss as they've lacked that clinical finisher in front of goal. They've also had some tough games to deal with having played 5 of the current top six which is never easy going into the second half of the season. These two factors have definitely played a part in their drop off in form over the last couple of months and they're the reasons why they've been dragged into the relegation mix.
How will Leeds cope without Marcelo Bielsa?
Leeds sacked Marcelo Bielsa at the weekend following their 4-0 defeat to Spurs which left them in 16th and 2 points above the relegation zone. He did such a great job there as he got them out of the Championship and lead them to a 9th place finish in their first season back in the Premier League last season. With him now gone Leeds may not be the same because of the impact he had on the club overall. So how will Leeds cope Marcelo Bielsa?
Bielsa had a huge impact on some the Leeds players during his time there as he made them better. Kalvin Phillips became one of the best holding midfielders around under his stewardship which lead to the player becoming an England starter whilst other players like Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison also excelled under his management. They will of course be looking to kick on because of impact that Bielsa had on their careers but without the man himself there, they may not play as well as they did when Bielsa was in charge.
His style of play won many admirers across the country as it made Leeds arguably the most entertaining team to watch. They did concede a lot of goals by playing the way they played under Bielsa but on their day they were a match for anyone in the league. Not playing that kind of football may have an effect on the team as the players may not be the same as they were before plus it will take the team itself time to get used to their new managers' methods.
It will take some getting used to seeing Leeds without Bielsa in charge and the next few weeks could tell us how they'll cope without him.
