Norwich facing another season of struggle
Norwich have had a really tough start on their return to the Premier League following defeats to Liverpool and Man City in their opening two games leaving them bottom of the table. With Leicester up next for them followed by Arsenal after the international break, the Canaries look set for another season of struggle. Especially if they don't learn from the mistakes made in their opening two games.
I was hopeful that they would be better defensively than they were two seasons ago after having the second best defence in the Championship last season. But I'm starting to think that their defenders are not Premier League level after two poor displays defensively where they've already conceded 8 goals. Unless they tighten up at the back play with caution against the big boys I can see the Canaries have another tough season.
Chelsea looking like title contenders with Lukaku signing
Romelu Lukaku put in an all round strikers performance on his second Chelsea debut at weekend as he got his goal and linked other players into play. He also timed his runs into the box well like every top striker does and overall showed why Chelsea needed a player like him. The blues lacked a clinical centre forward last season with Jorginho being their top scorer in the league and in Lukaku they appear to have found the missing piece of their jigsaw. They're solid and well drilled in the other areas and with a clinical striker leading their attack, the blues will definitely be up there in the mix for the title.
Has Diogo Jota replaced Roberto Firmino in Liverpool's front 3?
Diogo Jota has had a solid start to the season with goals in each of Liverpool's opening two games where has started both in the centre forward position ahead of Roberto Firmino. The Salah-Firmino-Mane trio has been a crucial part of Liverpool's success over the last 3-4 seasons and has established itself as one of the best front three's in Europe. But with Jota starting the season in good form and getting the nod ahead of Firmino in both games, the reds' front 3 appears to have a slightly different look about it this season. If Jota carries on in the form he's currently in, that centre forward position could very well be his own.
Dele Alli looking a revitalised player under Nuno
After being frozen out for much of last season Dele Alli appears to have his confidence back after a good start to the season under new boss Nuno Espirito Santo. He's started the season full of energy and is looking more like the Dele Alli we saw when he burst onto the scene. His work rate off the ball has been brilliant and on the ball he's doing all the things we know he can do in picking out the right passes and making bursting runs forward. His manager has given him the confidence and belief to express himself and he's repaying the faith shown in him by starting the season in good form. If he keeps this up. it woulnd't be a surprise if he was to return to the England set up.
