Premier League Final Day Predictions

SUNDAY:

ARSENAL V EVERTON

Arsenal's defeat to Newcastle on Monday night was a big opportunity missed as they would've regained the upper hand in the race for the top four. They never really turned up in that game and Mikel Arteta will demand a reaction from his players in this one as they really need to win it.

Some are saying that this season has been a disappointment for Arsenal as it was arguably their best chance of finishing in the top four. That will be seen as a disappointment in their eyes but I still think they should be proud of the season they've had because they've been closer to the top four than they have been in the last couple of seasons.

Everton showed great character to come from behind against Crystal Palace in midweek where they got the job done in terms of securing their Premier League status for another season. They'll be looking to play with some freedom in this one knowing that they'll be a Premier League club next season.

With their safety confirmed Frank Lampard can now look ahead to next season so he can start building his own team. After the tough season they've had, Everton are definitely in need of a clear-out so they can bring in the right players to help them push up the league.

PREDICTION: 3-1

I don't think Arsenal will get top four but I do think they'll win this game. Everton's away form has been poor all season and I think the Gunners will take advantage of that with a win here.

BRENTFORD V LEEDS

Brentford have had a brilliant first season in the Premier League and they'll certainly be looking to cap it off with a win in this game. They'll be going into this game in better form plus they've looked reasonably solid at home all season. Both of these will be a huge asset for them going into this game.

Leeds picked up a crucial point against Brighton last weekend which kept their survival hopes alive going into this game. That result also pulled them out of the bottom three but only for a brief spell following Burnley's draw with Aston Villa in midweek.

It's win or bust for Leeds here because their survival hopes are hanging by a thread as they're going into this last game in the bottom three. They looked safe about a month ago but results from the teams in and around them have pulled them right down into trouble.

PREDICTION: 3-1

I'm backing Brentford to win this one because they're in better form and will have enough quality to win the game. With home advantage on their side as well, they should win this one to send Leeds down.

BRIGHTON V WEST HAM

Brighton have never lost to West Ham since they've been in the Premier League with their record against them standing at 3 wins and 6 draws. This will give them confidence going into this game because they know how to get something against them and they'll believe that they can get something against them again.

The Seagulls are sitting in the top 10 going into this game and a point should be enough for them to finish there. They have a superior goal difference over the sides below them and if they get something here and finish in the top 10, it would give them something to build next season.

West Ham secured their place in Europe with their draw against Man City last weekend and they could still qualify for the Europa League if they win this game. For them to qualify for the Europa League for two straight seasons would be an outstanding achievement considering the size of their squad and the fact that they've been in Europe.

PREDICTION: 1-1

As West Ham have struggled whenever they play Brighton, I really can't see them winning this game. Brighton haven't been as strong at home as they have been away this season. But I do think they'll have enough to end their season with a point.

BURNLEY V NEWCASTLE

Burnley picked up a vital point against Aston Villa in midweek and it could be the result that keeps them in the league. They still need to win this one to stay up but when we look back on the results they've had this season, that point against Villa could turn out to be their most important result of the season.

If the Clarets do get something here to stay up, I think Mike Jackson has to be a candidate for the managers' job. He got the team performing the moment he came in and with the way they're ending the season, it wouldn't surprise me if he got it.

This might've been a must win game for Newcastle a few months ago as they were very much in the relegation mix at the time. But a number of good results since then have pulled them up the table and they'll be going into this one in a more comfortable position than they thought they would be.

The Magpies were excellent from start to finish against Arsenal on Monday night as they rarely gave them a sniff. Their performance will give them a lot of confidence going into this game but it might be a more challenging game as Burnley need to points more.

PREDICTION: 0-2

I think Newcastle will win this one because I can see them put in another convincing performance. Burnley will give it a good go as they need a win to keep themselves up but I think the Magpies will have have enough to win the game.

CHELSEA V WATFORD

Chelsea will finish 3rd if they win this game which where they deserve to finish. They had more than enough to finish in the top four as expected but they weren't able to mount a serious title challenge. It's been a difficult season for them both on and off the pitch and they'll just want to go out with a win so they can end the season on a high.

Watford got completely humiliated by Leicester by last weekend and their performance was not the one that new manager Rob Edwards wanted to see. The defending was completely hopeless like it has been all season and if they defend like that in this one, they'll probably get beaten by a similar score line.

The Hornets need to use next season as a rebuilding season because of the lack of stability at the football club. They need to get players out of the club that don't want to be there so Rob Edwards can bring in his own players in order to build his own team.

PREDICTION: 3-0

I've got to give Chelsea the win here because I think they'll have more than enough to win this game. Their current form isn't great but they should still be able to beat an out of sorts Watford team.

CRYSTAL PALACE V MAN UNITED

Crystal Palace have never beaten United at Selhurst Park in the Premier League and they have a great opportunity to do so here. They'll be up against an unconvincing United side in this game who they can definitely beat with the way they way and the attacking players they have.

It's been a good first season for Patrick Vieira at Palace and it could still end with a top 10 finish. Survival was probably the aim at the start of the season as they brought in a lot of players during the summer and if they do end up finishing in the top 10, their expectations will be higher next season.

Man United got completely torn apart in their last game against Brighton a couple of weeks ago where they simply did not turn up. Having not played for a couple of weeks, they should be well prepared for this game as they've had enough time to look back at what went wrong and improve on those things on the training ground.

This has to be their worse ever season in the Premier League because of their points tally being lower than their tally from David Moyes' season and the unconvincing performances they've put in. Erik Ten Hag will be at this game and he's going to learn a lot about the team he's going to manage in the summer.

PREDICTION: 2-0

I fancy Palace to win this one because they're strong at home and are a more convincing team to watch. United have had a couple of weeks to prepare this for this game but I still think Palace will win this one as I can't see United put in a convincing performance.

LEICESTER V SOUTHAMPTON

Leicester have had a rather frustrating season this year as they've struggled for form and consistency. Injuries haven't helped with most of them being to key players and their squad will be in need of a refresh this summer.

The Foxes are on course for a strong end to the season with the recent form they're in and a strong end to the season is all they've had to play for over the last few weeks. They're on a three game unbeaten run going into this one and a win here to keep it up will give them the momentum to carry it on into next season.

I'm beginning to worry about Southampton going into next season because of the way they're ending this one and the possibility of them losing talisman James Ward Prowse. They do have new owners in who will 100% back Ralph Hasenhuttl in the summer but getting the right kind of players in will be difficult.

The Saints have lost 8 of their last 11 games going into this one and they also haven't won any of their last 5. That's not the kind of form you want to end season on as it can easily be carried into next season which is something that Ralph Hasenhuttl will want his side to avoid.

PREDICTION: 3-1

I've got to give Leicester the win here because they're in better form and have a bit more in quality. With their attacking players in Jamie Vardy and James Maddison playing well and in form, this should be a comfortable win for the Foxes.

LIVERPOOL V WOLVES

Liverpool made a lot of changes against Southampton in midweek yet they still got the job done. Their strength in depth is just incredible when you look at the options they have and their win at St Mary's on Tuesday highlighted how strong it is with the players that came in and did a job.

The reds should play a strong team here as they have a title to win. They do have a Champions League final to look forward next weekend but with the title race going down to the wire, I expect Jurgen Klopp to field a strong team for this game.

Wolves have let their season peter out over the last month both results and performance wise. They've not won in 7 and in terms of performances they haven't looked convincing at both ends of the pitch as they've been shipping in goals defensively and not scoring enough going forward.

Despite their poor end to the season Wolves have still had a pretty decent season. They have struggled to score goals for most of the campaign but for them to finish 8th/9th would still be a good season. Especially as they finished 13th last season.

PREDICTION: 2-0

I've got to give Liverpool the win here because I think they'll be too strong for Wolves. They might not win the title but I still think they'll have enough to win this game and carry their current form into the Champions League final next Saturday.

MAN CITY V ASTON VILLA

Man City will go into this game with the upper hand in the title race as they're the team who are sitting at the top of the league going into this round of fixtures. They know what they have to do and they're confident that they can do it having been in this position before.

They could've had the title wrapped up already had it not been for Liverpool's win over Southampton in midweek. With the gap now being just one point between the two teams, City simply have to win so they can secure the title.

Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard could get his chance to finally win a league title for Liverpool when he leads his side out for this game even though he'll be more focused on his own team getting the result. He'll know what's at stake in terms of the Premier League title race but he'll be thinking more about ending this season on a high note.

PREDICTION: 3-1

I'm backing City to get the job done here because they'll have more than enough quality to win this game. Villa will try and spoil the party but I think City will take the points and secure the title.

NORWICH V TOTTENHAM

Norwich should've killed the game off in the first half against Wolves last weekend as they had a lot of chance to do so. They were on top during that period of the game and they'll certainly be kicking themselves for not taking their chances as they ended up drawing the game.

Their performance in that game will give them some encouragement going into this one where they'll be looking to go out on a high note. It's been a dreadful season for them and they're only chance of ending it with some happiness is with a good result and performance here.

Spurs' season been one rollercoaster of a campaign as they've had spells where they've been brilliant and spells where they've been poor. But the good thing coming out of this season is that they could be playing Champions League football next season which is what they set out to do at the beginning.

A point is the minimum they need to secure a top four finish as their goal difference is much more superior than Arsenal's. They will of course look to win the game as it's one they need to win but a draw could still be enough because of their superior goal difference.

PREDICTION: 0-3

I'm backing Spurs to win this one and comfortably because I can see them being too strong for Norwich. They need the points more as they have something to play for and if Kane and Son are available, I can see them really walk over Norwich.
