We have finally reached the end of one of the closest seasons in Premier League history. Everything went to the final day and as always there was plenty of drama, controversy and many shocks. Now it's time to rate every club's season out of 10.
ARSENAL - 6
Not finishing in the top four will be a disappointment as this season was arguably their best chance of finishing there. But overall it's still been a good season for them as they've had a stronger mentality than they have done in recent seasons and they've also shown progression after two disappointing 8th placed finishes. There is a much better feeling around the club than there was before because of the progress they've made this season.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: BUKAYO SAKA
Saka has really stepped up as Arsenal's main man this season and he's only 20 years of age. He registered 11 goals and 7 assists this season and he put his Euro's penalty miss well and truly behind him with the performances he's put in alongside his contributions.
ASTON VILLA - 5
I was expecting big things from Villa at the start of the season because of the players they brought in. But they couldn't live up to them as a poor run of form early in the season saw Dean Smith sacked and replaced by Steven Gerrard. Gerrard did make an impact when he arrived in November but inconsistent form towards the end of the season saw them finish a mere 14th. Big things will be expected of them next season with Gerrard having a full summer to build his own team.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: JOHN MCGINN
McGinn has stepped up as Villa's go to man this season ever since the departure of Jack Grealish and has arguably been their most consistent performer. Only Christian Norgaard made more tackles than him this season plus he's also contributed with vital goals and assists as well.
BRENTFORD - 7
A very good first season for them in the Premier League. They kept themselves a good distance away from the relegation zone all season and were a joy to watch right throughout the campaign. The signing of Christian Eriksen did help them massively in the latter part of the season but the Bees were always going to be safe.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: IVAN TONEY
Toney's 12 league goals were massive for the Bees this season as they kept themselves within the the middle of the table. He was a big loss when he was out injured around January-February time and without his goals the Bees might've been in big trouble.
BRIGHTON - 7
A very good season for the Seagulls as they finished in the top half to record their highest ever finish and points tally which is a big improvement on last season. But the same problems are still there in that they play good football but don't score enough goals. Graham Potter will surely be looking out for a striker in the summer to finish off those missed chances.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: MARC CUCURELLA
Cucurella has been the Seagulls' most consistent performer this season by putting in good performances at both ends of the pitch. He's been solid defensively and whenever he's got forward he's always been a threat. What a signing he's been for them.
BURNLEY - 4
A very poor season as they ended up relegated bringing an end to their six year stay. Mike Jackson did give them some hope when he replaced Sean Dyche but that hope wasn't enough as they later dropped points when the teams around them gained points. Goals were a problem all season as they lacked an out and out threat which is what pretty much sent them down.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: NICK POPE
Without a shadow of a doubt. Pope has kept the Clarets in games time and time again this season by making many crucial saves at crucial moments. They might've gone down earlier if it wasn't for him and he's certainly not going to stick around in the Championship.
CHELSEA - 6
After winning the Champions League last season, I was expecting Chelsea to kick on and challenge for the title. But that never materialised as inconsistent form around and after Christmas saw them out of contention and having to settle for a top four finish. The signing of Lukaku didn't work out as well as many people hoped and they'll without a doubt have a big summer ahead of them with the new owners coming in.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: MASON MOUNT
Mount has again stepped up as Chelsea's go to man this season by upping his game with more goals and assists. He ended the campaign as the Blues' top goal scorer with 11 goals and was again one of their most consistent performers.
CRYSTAL PALACE - 7
A very good first season under Patrick Vieira as they played some good football and built a young and exciting team after years of being difficult to beat under Roy Hodgson. They did have to bring in a lot of players having lost a load from last season but those new players adapted well to the league and played a huge role in the club pushing for the top 10.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: CONNOR GALLAGHER
Gallagher has been outstanding during his loan spell from Chelsea as he scored 8 goals and brought a lot of energy to the midfield as well as goals. The Eagles would love to sign him up on a permanent deal after the season he's had.
EVERTON - 5
They did stay up which was a good achievement but overall it was a terrible season. The appointment of Rafa Benitez was never right as poor results earlier in the season saw him sacked leaving the club in an absolute mess. Frank Lampard later came in and gradually steered them to safety after a tough start start by making them difficult to beat and more resolute as a team. A big clear-out is needed this summer if they're to avoid another relegation battle next season.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: ANTHONY GORDON
Gordon was the Toffees' most consistent performer this season and he's only 21 years old. He stepped up when none of the seniors did by scoring some crucial goals and putting in some good performances which played a big part in Everton staying in the league.
LEEDS - 5
A very tough season for them as injuries to key players and poor discipline saw them dragged into a relegation battle. They did just stay up with their final day win over Brentford but over the course of the season they were very naïve and too open defensively with the amount of goals they conceded. Big work needed in the summer if they're to stay out of another dogfight.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: RAPHINHA
Raphinha really stepped up as Leeds' main man this season in the absence of both Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford who were both big losses. His 11 goals were crucial to Leeds staying up and without him they definitely would've gone down.
LEICESTER - 5
A disappointing season for the Foxes which wasn't helped by injuries and inconsistent form. They did end it on a strong note but with the high standards they've set themselves in recent seasons, they'll still feel a bit disappointed with the season they've had. A squad refresh is no doubt needed this summer with some players now in the latter stages of their careers.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: JAMES MADDISON
Maddison has without a doubt been the Foxes' most consistent performer this season by registering 12 goals and 8 assists. He stepped up when the Foxes needed someone to and without his contributions they wouldn't have finished as high as they did.
LIVERPOOL - 8
An outstanding season as they pushed City right to the wire after looking nowhere near at the turn of the year. They'll disappointed not to win the title but having won the League Cup and FA Cup, they'll be proud of the season they've had. They could still win a treble with a Champions League final coming up on Saturday.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: MOHAMED SALAH
Salah in my opinion has been the best player this season in general as he ended the campaign with the joint most goals and the most assists. His goals may have dried up in the second half of the season after a brilliant first half but without his contributions the reds' would've been nowhere near challenging for the title. They simply need to tie him down to a new contract with his current deal up next summer.
MAN CITY - 9
Another brilliant season for City as they defended their title and did so by winning it without a recognised striker for the second straight season. Liverpool were hot on their tails in the second half of the season but with the big lead they had at Christmas, a fourth title in five seasons was never in doubt. Especially with someone like Pep in charge.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: KEVIN DE BRUYNE
It did take him time to get going after a slwo start but once he did get going KDB was unstoppable. He ended the campaign as City's top goal scorer with 15 goals and he once again showed why he's one of the best players in the world.
MAN UNITED - 4
A absolutely disastrous season. I thought they would challenge for the title at the start of the season with the players they brought in but they were nowhere near it. Things did not get better when Ralf Rangnick replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as many unconvincing performances and poor results saw them finish well outside the top four. New boss Erik Ten Hag has a mountain of a job on his hands when he takes over in the summer because this club is in a right old mess and needs a clear-out.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: DAVID DE GEA
Ronaldo did carry the team for much of the season with the goals he scored but for me it had to be De Gea. The Spaniard made countless saves to keep United in games this season and if it wasn't for him they would've finished in a much lower position.
NEWCASTLE - 6
After a disastrous first half to the season where they looked good as gone, the Magpies spectacularly turned it around in the second half as they finished 11th. They were helped massively by their January signings but Eddie Howe still deserves a lot of credit for the job he has done. There is now a much better feeling around the club because of him and the new owners.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: JOELINTON
Joelinton has looked a completely different player this season and especially since Eddie Howe has been in charge. He's impressed in his new midfield role ever since he took up the position and is now one of the first names on the team sheet.
NORWICH - 3
An absolutely disastrous season. They never had the quality to compete at this level and their poor recruitment was one of the reasons why. They had both the worst defence and attack in the league and because of that it's no surprise to see them down.
PLAYER TO THE SEASON: TEEMU PUKKI
Goals have been a struggle for the Canaries this season but without the 11 that Pukki scored, they would've gone down earlier. He was the only shining light in their miserable season as he was the only goal threat they had in their team.
SOUTHAMPTON - 5
A rather up and down season for the Saints this season as they had spells where they were good and spells where they were poor. A poor end to the season saw the fans turn on the manager and they have a big summer ahead of them under their new owners who will need to back the manager if they're to have a better season next year.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: JAMES WARD PROWSE
The skipper carried the Saints all season with his perfect deliveries and set pieces to keep them out of a relegation battle. With him now in the prime of his career and a full time England international, the Sainns might struggle to keep hold of him in the summer as some of the big clubs are likely to come calling for him.
TOTTENHAM - 7
It has been a rollercoaster of a season for Spurs as there were both good moments and bad moments. But on the plus side they finished in the top four which was what they set out to do at the start of the season and Antonio Conte deserves a lot of credit for that because they looked nowhere near it when he replaced Nuno Espirito Santo.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: HEUNG MIN SON
Son just had his best season in a Spurs shirt by scoring 23 goals as he shared the golden boot with Mohamed Salah. His partnership with Harry Kane was again strong and after he season he's had he has to be considered as a world class player.
WATFORD - 3
An absolute disaster of a season both on and off the pitch as poor decisions and results saw them relegated. Sacking Xisco Munoz very early in the season was a strange decision and it turned out to be the wrong one with Claudio Ranieri later getting the sack and replaced by Roy Hodgson. Things didn't improve under him either as they carried on conceding goals and didn't score enough at the other end. They need to start again next season by creating an identity and becoming a more sustainable club off the pitch.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: BEN FOSTER
The Hornets may have been dreadful defensively all season but Foster has still been their standout performer by making lots of top saves to keep them in games. He's still delivering the goods at 39 years of age and could go on for at least another season.
WEST HAM - 7
Another good season for the Hammers as they kept themselves in the race for Europe all season whilst playing in the Europa League with a thin squad. David Moyes has again done a magnificent job for which he deserves a lot of credit for as he showed that last season was no fluke.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: DECLAN RICE
Rice has been the driving force behind the Hammers' season both in the league and in Europe as he continues to develop as a player. He's again stepped up as a leader on the pitch and is beginning to turn into more of a box to box midfielder with the bursting forward runs he makes. The Hammers could struggle to keep hold of him in the summer.
WOLVES - 6
A decent first season for Bruno Lage as it was an improvement on last season's 13th placed finish plus they also put themselves in the mix for a place in Europe. But that challenge later fizzled out as they ended the season poorly and struggled to score goals right throughout the season. Their lack of goals in particular will need addressing this summer.
PLAYER OF THE SEASON: JOSE SA
Wolves have looked solid defensively for the majority of the season and Sa was a key part of that. He made lots of vital saves to keep his side in games and kept 11 clean sheets as Wolves finished in the top 10 and put themselves in the mix for a place in Europe.
