October Team of the Month

GK: DANNY WARD (LEICESTER) - Ward kept 4 clean sheets from 6 games during October as Leicester had a much solid look about them defensively. He made crucial saves when his team needed him and his solid performances played a huge role in Leicester moving off the bottom of the league.

RB: KIERON TRIPPIER (NEWCASTLE) - Trippier was crucial at both ends during October as he registered 2 assists going forward and put in some solid performances defensively. With England short on right backs going into the World Cup, Trippier surely has to start given the form he's been in.

CB: BEN WHITE (ARSENAL) - White has looked effective on the right hand side of Arsenal's defence and especially during October where he registered 2 assists and did not put one foot wrong defensively. He's shown his adaptability to play in different positions and it's for this reason why he should go to the World Cup.

CB: WOUT FAES (LEICESTER) - Leicester looked a much better team defensively during October and new signing Faes was one of the main reasons behind it. He's settled into Premier League life reasonably quickly with his performances and his presence in the Foxes backline has made them more difficult to beat.

LB: JOAO CANCELO (MAN CITY) - Cancelo was his usual excellent self during October by being effective at both ends of the pitch. He registered a goal and an assist each going forward and put in some solid showings defensively. He's surely the best full back in the league based on how effective he is both defensively and offensively.

RM: MIGUEL ALMIRON (NEWCASTLE) - Almiron scored more goals in October than he did in each of his previous four seasons with Newcastle as he ended the month with 6 goals. He's looked a completely different player to the one we've seen over the last few seasons and is now one of the first names on Eddie Howe's team sheet.

CM: KEVIN DE BRUYNE (MAN CITY) - De Bruyne kept up his fine season in October by registering 2 goals and 3 assists as City stayed in touch with Arsenal at the top of the league. I had him in my team's of the month for both August and September and I've got him in again for October. He's well on course for his best season ever.

CM: BRUNO GUIMARAES (NEWCASTLE) - Guimaraes has been central to Newcastle's turnaround under Eddie Howe by adding that extra bit of quality to the midfield both offensively and defensively. He registered 2 goals and assists each during October as the Magpies moved into the top four and he also controlled the game in midfield like he has done for the majority of his time in the North East.

LM: LEANDRO TROSSARD (BRIGHTON) - Trossard scored 5 goals during October and all of them came against big teams in Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea. Brighton may have missed a lot of chances during the month but when they needed someone to step up and deliver the goods, Trossard was there.

ST: ERLING HAALAND (MAN CITY) - Haaland kept up his incredible form during October as he scored 6 times including a hat trick in the Manchester Derby. With the amount of goals he's scored already and the rate in which he is scoring them, you might as well give him the golden boot.

ST: CALLUM WILSON (NEWCASTLE) - Wilson's 4 goals were crucial for Newcastle as they moved them into the top four and put Wilson well in contention for a place in England's World Cup squad. If he can stay fit for the next week or so, he has a chance of being included.
