TUESDAY:
LIVERPOOL V MAN UNITED
The quadruple is very much on for Liverpool and its possible that they could go on to achieve it. They can definitely win the FA Cup and the Champions League as they'll be up against teams that they're more than capable of beating plus they're still in with a chance of winning the Premier League.
The reds haven't done the double over United since the 2013/14 season and they have a great opportunity to do it in this one. The gulf in class between the two sides is massive and with the form the reds are currently in, there is no way that they'll lose here.
Man United picked up a crucial win over Norwich at the weekend even though they did not look at all convincing. They were all over the place defensively and the reason for that could be because they didn't start with a defensive midfielder.
They were completely outplayed the last time they played a top side when they took on Man City last month and this one could be another one of those games. They lost 5-0 in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford and if they put in another abject performance in this one, it could be another humiliating score line.
PREDICTION: 3-0
I've got to go with a comfortable Liverpool win here because they're better out of possession. United have been lethargic when taking on the top teams this season and I can see them be the same in this one.
WEDNESDAY:
CHELSEA V ARSENAL
Chelsea took a while to get going in their FA Cup semi final against Crystal Palace but they did eventually wake up in the second half. They had the better chances in the second half as they showed more energy and looked more in control of the game.
The Blues' win over Arsenal in the reverse fixture got a lot of people believing that they were going to challenge for the title because of the performance Romelu Lukaku put in on his debut. It hasn't exactly turned out that way as Lukaku has struggled for form and the blues have been long out of the reckoning for the title. BUt a good performance from them here could tell us that they could be up there next season.
Arsenal are on their worst run of form since the start of the season having lost their last three league games and its very likely that this run could extend to four games. They don't have a good record against the so called big teams and the current form they're in is not the kind of form they want to be in going into a game like this.
PREDICTION: 2-0
I'm backing Chelsea to win here because I think they'll be too strong for Arsenal. With Arsenal on a poor run of form and having a poor record in these kind of games, the blues should have no problems here.
EVERTON V LEICESTER
Everton picked up a much needed win in their last game against Man United and the question going into this game will be whether they can follow that up with another one here. The result and performance will give them confidence plus they will have had plenty of time to prepare for this game having not played at the weekend which could give them an advantage.
Leicester are in for a busy end to the season as they have both Premier League and Europa Conference League games to juggle. They're likely to pick up some more injuries as a result of the busy schedule they have and with one or two key players already out, it could be a tough end to the season for them.
The Foxes have only won three times on the road this season with their most recent success against Burnley being their only away win for about three or four months. In this one they'll be up against Everton side who are starting to make their home a fortress and the atmosphere inside the stadium could make if difficult for the foxes.
PREDICTION: 2-1
I fancy Everton to win this one because I can see them carry their performance against Man United into this game. With their home form starting to improve and Leicester struggling on the road, I think the Toffees will edge this one.
NEWCASTLE V CRYSTAL PALACE
Newcastle should be good as safe now with their weekend win over Leicester pushing them 12 points clear of the relegation zone. They'll have enough quality to win some of their remaining games and with the comfortable cushion they have between themselves and the drop they should be ok.
The January signings have arguably been the catalyst in their season and one of them in Bruno Guimaraes has started to make himself known. He's impressed in almost every game he's played and is starting to show why Newcastle spent all that money on him.
Crystal Palace will now be looking to end the season in the strongest possible way following their FA Cup exit to Chelsea on Sunday. They have some winnable games coming up between now and the end of the season and Patrick Vieira will want his side to make the most of them.
PREDICTION: 1-0
I can see this one be a very close game as they're both good to watch with good managers in charge. Both teams will go for it and I think Newcastle will take the points because of how strong they've been at home under Eddie Howe.
MAN CITY V BRIGHTON
This is a game that Man City simply have to win as Liverpool are playing the day before and their season could potentially end without a trophy. They were knocked out of the FA Cup by Liverpool on Saturday and with the reds just one point behind them, they'll need to win pretty much all their remaining fixtures if they're to win the title.
They showed some fighting spirit in the second half against Liverpool and they had to as they were 3-0 down at half time. If they're to win the title, they'll need to show more of that which they're more than capable of doing so.
Brighton are off the back of wins over Arsenal and Spurs going into this game which will give them a lot of confidence. They've been better away from home this season compared to their home form which will be another plus for them going into this game.
PREDICTION: 2-0
I'm backing City to win this one because they'll have more than enough quality to win the game. The pressure will be on them with Liverpool playing the day before and I can see them live up to that pressure with a win in this game.
THURSDAY:
BURNLEY V SOUTHAMPTON
Burnley stood firm in their draw with West Ham on Sunday and their performance on the day showed that they have character and fight which is exactly what they need to stay up. Losing Ashley Westwood to that injury will be a blow but their performance will give them something to build on.
They now need to turn those kind of performances into wins which is something they've struggled with all season. They've drawn a lot of games over the course of the season and they also haven't won that many either. That is why they're in the position they're in and it could be what sends them down.
Southampton were organised in their win over Arsenal on Saturday by getting men behind the ball and being well positioned defensively. The result itself was one they needed because of the poor form they were in going into the game plus they also had to show a response to the Chelsea defeat the week before.
All the Saints have left to play for is a strong end to the season as they're not in danger of going or pushing for anything else further up the table. They can still finish in the top 10 but Ralph Hasenhuttl will be more focused on ending the season in the strongest possible way.
PREDICTION: 0-1
I can see this one being close as it usually is whenever these two sides face other. I'm going for Southampton to take the win here because they'll be feeling confident after beating Arsenal and I can see them carry that confidence into this game.
