FA Cup Final 2022 Preview

PROBABLE STARTING LINE UPS FOR BOTH SIDES

These two sides met in the Carabao Cup final earlier in the season and they meet again in another cup final three months later. It's the first time that the same two two teams are facing each other both finals.

Chelsea have to be up for this game with this final being their last and only chance of ending the season with some silverware. They've also lost this final for the last two seasons against Arsenal and Leicester respectively which should give them the motivation and desire to go one better this year.

The Blues will be seen as underdogs going into this game as Liverpool are in a higher league position and are in better form going into this game. Being underdogs could serve them well here like it did when they won the Champions League last season and Thomas Tuchel will certainly be hoping that his side to use that mentality in this one.

Liverpool haven't won this competition since that final in 2006 against West Ham. It will however be their first appearance in an FA Cup final since 2012 where they lost to the team they're playing in this one.

The FA Cup is the only major trophy that Jurgen Klopp is yet to win during his time time at Liverpool and he'll certainly want to get his hands on it at the end of this game. His side will definitely believe they can win this final having beaten Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final in February.

The reds will be without Fabinho for this final which will be a massive blow for them because of how important he is for them. Jordan Henderson can do a job in that position like he has done over the years but not having Fabinho there will still be a big blow for them in a game like this.

PREDICTION: 1-2

It will definitely be a close game because of the quality of the two teams involved. I think Liverpool will take the win here because they have a stronger bench and I can see this game being decided by a substitute coming onto the pitch. Chelsea do have options on their bench but I think Liverpool's bench looks the stronger of the two.
