FA Cup 3rd Round Draw Verdict

The draw for the FA Cup 3rd Round was made earlier this evening with some interesting ties to look forward to next month.

National League leaders Chesterfield have a big tie to look forward to as they travel to Premier League Chelsea who will once again be among the favourites to win the competition. This could be one of the biggest shocks in the competition if Chesterfield were to pull it off. Two other non league clubs also have a chance to cause an upset as Yeovil take on Championship high flyers Bournemouth and Kidderminster of the National League North take on Reading at home. Could these two pull it off?

League 2 Port Vale have the opportunity to cause an upset as they take on Premier League Brentford at home. This would be a massive upset if they were to pull it off and it could happen as they're 5th in the league and Brentford could make several changes.

League 1 Shrewsbury travel to Liverpool in a rematch of their tie from two seasons ago when the Shrews came from 2-0 down to take the game to a replay at Anfield. Could they do the same again? Morecambe and Swindon also have opportunities to pull off unlikely upsets as they take on two giants with Morecambe traveling to Spurs and Swindon taking on Premier League champions Man City.

Record winners Arsenal take on Championship side Nottingham Forest where they'll be looking for revenge from their meeting in this round in 2018 which Forest won 4-2. 2004 finalists Millwall have a London derby to look forward to as they host Crystal Palace where they'll surely be looking to cause an upset whilst Sheffield United travel to Wolves and 2014 finalists Hull take on Everton who haven't won this competition since 1995.

Claudio Ranieri will again be returning to his old club as his Watford side take on holders Leicester in an attempt to avenge their 4-2 defeat to them at the end of last month. West Ham who are flying high are also involved in an all Premier League tie as they take on Leeds whilst Man United in an attempt to end the season with a trophy take on Aston Villa.
