The draw for the Champions League Quarter Finals was made yesterday with some very interesting ties to look forward to next month.
QUARTER FINAL DRAW:
Benfica v Liverpool
Chelsea v Real Madrid
Man City v Atletico Madrid
Villarreal v Bayern Munich
Out of all the English sides Chelsea have the toughest the tie as they'll be taking on record winners Real Madrid who are currently sitting 10 points clear at the top of the La Liga. The Blues did beat them in the semi finals last season but this time they'll be expecting a tougher game this time round as Real look a much stronger team. This tie has to be the tie of the round.
Man City also have a difficult tie as they'll be taking on Atletico Madrid who knocked out Man United in the last 16. City will still be the favourites to go through but it's still a tough tie for them as Atletico are a tough team to play against. Pep Guardiola will no doubt know this as his Bayern Munich side were knocked out by Atletico under Diego Simeone in the semi finals back in 2016.
Liverpool and Bayern Munich both have winnable ties as they'll be taking on Benfica and Villarreal respectively. Benfica did beat AJax in the last round with Villarreal knocking out Juventus , but both Liverpool and Bayern should still have enough to see themselves through to the semi finals. They'll both face each other if they make it through.
